In Mary, Queen of Scots, Irish actress Saoirse Ronan stars as the Scottish queen who, following the death of her young husband, the Dauphin of France, returns to her homeland to reign as monarch.
A Catholic, who had been destined to become Queen of France, she finds herself looking south of the border to where her Tudor cousin Elizabeth, a Protestant, reigns over England.
Determined to unite the two countries and return England to the 'one, true faith,' she plots Elizabeth's overthrow which inevitably leads to her capture and imprisonment.
After years under house arrest, she is executed.
The film includes a dramatic meeting between Elizabeth and Mary; in reality, the two sovereigns never met.

It took three-and-a-half hours a day to do her hair and makeup.
The actress recently revealed, while doing publicity for the film, that the part was incredibly challenging.
'I could barely move my face because there was so much prosthetics. It's glued-down plastic on your face,' she explained during a TV interview in her native Australia.
'The clothes were very restrictive, as they were at the time, she added. 'It helped - I felt claustrophobic, I felt trapped.'
The experience did help her in empathizing with the character who, she said, had created an image and then became a prisoner of it.
'It was very alienating. And I felt very lonely,' she commented.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
