A Kentucky man with an alleged history of mental illness who police say confessed to stabbing to death a married mother-of-three in his hotel room over the weekend has pleaded not guilty to murder.
Florence police say 26-year-old Amanda Dakota Webster, of Arizona, was found dead just before noon on Saturday inside a room at Home 2 Suits on Woodspoint Drive, which was rented by 32-year-old Jesse A James.
James was arrested two hours later after giving police two fake names at Rave Cinemas on Mall Road, where he was reportedly 'acting strangely,' according to employees there.
Jesse James, 32 (left), has been charged with murdering 26-year-old Amanda Webster, a mother-of-three (right), in Kentucky on Saturday
Webster's lifeless body covered in stab wounds was discovered inside James' room at the Home 2 Suites in Florence, Kentucky
When interviewed by a police detective, James reportedly admitted to killing Webster and was charged with murder, tampering with evidence, identity theft and giving false identifying information.
WCPO-TV reported that during his initial court appearance on Monday, James repeatedly said 'not guilty' as a Boone County judge read the charges against him.
His aunt, Mildred Scherder, told the station the 32-year-old murder suspect suffers from paranoid schizophrenia and was off his medication. Police have not confirmed the diagnosis.
His brother, Justin, on Sunday and Monday posted lengthy status updates on Facebook addressing Jesse's arrest, in which he argued that the criminal justice system has failed both their family and that of the victim by turning its back on Jesse's mental health problems and denying him the treatment he needed.

Hardworking: A close friend said Webster was married and traveled from state to state working construction (pictured left and right on the job) to provide for her three young sons
'He has been unsafe to be in public for some time now, and regardless of how many times he was arrested, assessed, held for 3 days and let go, institutionalized and told “he’s not bad enough” after just a couple of weeks, kicked out of mental health programs for being “too violent”, pleas and begging for help and guidance, nothing happened,' Justin James wrote.
The 26-year-old mom-of-three was from Cameron on the Navajo reservation in northern Arizona
The brother revealed that Jesse's latest stint at a mental institution ended on November 30, just one day after he was admitted.
Prior to that, the 32-year-old alleged schizophrenic had spent months in jail without having access to his medications, despite his parents' repeated pleas.
'This is what our current system deems acceptable. He then checked himself into the room that forever changed the lives of everyone involved,' Justin added, calling Webster's murder 'a senseless and completely preventable tragedy.'
James' bail was set at $1million. A public defender will be appointed to represent him. He is due back in court on Friday.
Aurelia Webster said her niece, Amanda, moved to the Florence area around three months ago. She was from Cameron on the Navajo reservation in northern Arizona.
Webster's best friend wrote in the description of a GoFundMe campaign and on her Facebook page that the 26-year-old woman was a traveling construction worker.
James' family said the 32-year-old is a paranoid schizophrenic who was off his medication. In court on Monday, he repeatedly said, 'not guilty'
James' brother, Justin, took to Facebook on Sunday and Monday, accusing the criminal justice system of failing his brother, and the victim
Kvonakdence Kson wrote that Webster leaves behind her husband and three sons, aged three months old, two years old and 10 years old.
The friend, who also works construction, said that she and Webster had been staying together at the Florence hotel. It is unclear how the victim ended up in the suspect's room.
The online fundraiser has drawn more than $8,000 in donations as of Monday afternoon.
Online records indicate that James has an extensive criminal history, which includes charges of meth and cocaine possession, public drunkenness and probation violations.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
