Dr. Alex George has revealed the reason why he returned to A&E after he failed to find romance on Love Island as he dumped Alexandra Cane days before the final.

The A&E hunk, 27, recalled a sweet story with his adoring fans on Instagram as he shared with them that he had been reunited with a patient he had treated last year.

Love Island's Alex was filled with pride when his former patient told him he had inspired her to study hard, go to university and become a doctor.

They added: 'He talks really passionately about his profession and is a big star thanks to his summer in the villa – but wants to use his newfound fame to educate the masses.'

During an appearance on This Morning back in August, Dr. Alex said: 'I absolutely love my job and whilst I was away I started missing it in a lot of ways, and every now and again we’d talk about medicine in the villa and I’d love all that.

'I definitely want to go back to A&E once the time is right.'

Upon hearing that each contestant could earn in the region of £5,000 per Instagram post which could equate to £750,000 a year, the Welsh medic admitted he would be passionate about bringing his expertise to the small screen and isn't interested in the reality star life.

The reality star continued: 'All this kind of blows my mind, but for me, my interest is going back to A&E and what I’d really love to do is be involved in medical education…

'I think people of my age want to know more about the medical world but I don't know if it’s always as accessible, so I would love to do TV doctor work because I am passionate about my job and would love to make it accessible to all audiences.'

His admission impressed show host Eamonn Holmes, who explained that they asked their viewers at home if he should give up his medical career.

Eamonn said: 'Well people admire you thinking like that because we asked viewers asking if you should give up your job as a doctor and a become a full time reality star, and a massive 97 per cent said no!'

During his stint on Love Island, Dr. Alex failed to make a spark with Samira Mighty, Megan Hanson Barton, Ellie Brown, Charlie Williams, Grace Wardle, Laura Crane and Alexandra Cane, subsequently leaving the show single.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
