«Breaking News» KFC releases fried chicken-scented firelogs for Christmas

Whether you are someone eager to disguise the aroma of their own less-than-brilliant Christmas cooking, or simply adore the smell of fried chicken, KFC has got you covered.

The fast-food chain has released a line of fried-chicken scented firelogs that are said to smell exactly like their classic fried chicken.

The restaurant teamed up with Enviro-log to create the 11 Herbs & Spices Firelog that cost $18 each and are now available on KFC's website for a limited time only.

KFC, also known as Kentucky Fried Chicken, specializes in fried chicken.

The chain is one of the largest fast-food companies in the world, and is headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky.

The chicken specialists have long been releasing different quirky takes on fried chicken, but their latest venture might just be the most bizarre.

The company announced on Thursday that is it releasing the firelogs that are said to ooze a 'mouth-watering aroma of Colonel Sanders’ secret recipe'.

Writing about its latest release, the company said: 'This one-of-a-kind firelog from Enviro-Log, a leading manufacturer of firelogs made of 100 percent recycled materials, is the result of countless hours of research and development, all done over the last couple of months since we had this idea.'

KFC added that the firelogs are made with 100 per cent recycled materials, making them 'dramatically less wasteful and significantly more effective at making your home smell like fried chicken than burning actual fried chicken'.

The response to the release of the chicken-scented firelogs has seen mixed opinions.

One Instagram user commented on the food-chain's post, saying: 'Is this a real thing?! We need to test out? If so!'

Another commented: 'Oh wow.'

Over on Twitter, some users weren't as impressed. One user wrote: 'Welp I know what I’m gift wrapping for the work Christmas gift exchange! Nothing like the fresh scent of high cholesterol and chest pains.'

'I can’t tell if this is a bad idea or an amazing one,' wrote another Twitter user.

This isn't the first wacky marketing scheme used by the company.

Last month, KFC took negative comments posted online about its fries, and used them to its advantage.

One specific Tweet, that read: 'Dear KFC, no one likes your fries. Yours sincerely, the entire World,' caught the company's eye.

KFC decided to use the Tweet to its advantage when they remade their classic fries.

In its 'Ain't no small fry' campaign that was used to market the chain's newer, chunkier fries, the company used the negative Tweet to catch the attention of the public.

Earlier this week, a Sydney-based woman posted a photo the fast-food chain's Facebook page that showed what looked like a piece of a brain in her chicken meal.

Sarah Palmer, 26, posted the photos and wrote: 'Upon purchasing what I had hoped would be some finger lickin' good chicken from KFC Parramatta, I was horrified to find what looks like ... brains.

'This is not a typo, yep I mean brains, buried under your delicious secret herbs and spices. Imagine my horror, nausea and disappointment.

'Would love your thoughts on how you think we can patch up our relationship. With fried regards, Sarah,' she added.

A KFC spokesperson replied to the post saying it was 'more likely a piece of kidney and not brain.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
