«Breaking News» Jodie Whittaker admits she hopes her fame as Doctor Who will get her a free VIP pass to Glastonbury

She's wowed the nation as the first ever woman to portray the legendary Time Lord.

And Jodie Whittaker revealed she hopes her raised profile as Doctor Who will give her the chance to receive a free VIP ticket to Glastonbury.

Speaking to The Mirror on Saturday, the actress, 36, explained: 'I asked a couple of years ago and I think it was like, "Absolutely not. You're not counted as a VIP".'

'So I think if being the Doctor can get me anything, I'm like, "Please let me".'

When asked if she could find the time to go now that she's playing the iconic sci-fi role, she joked: 'I'd go every year, but this is the problem with a filming schedule, it doesn't acknowledge your social life. It's so rude.'

This comes after new figures released earlier this month showed Jodie's debut as The Doctor attracted the programme's highest average ratings for nearly a decade.

On average, Jodie, and her trio of companions, Bradley Walsh, Mandip Gil and Tosin Cole, brought in an average audience of 7.7 million per episode across the 10 shows.

The last time the show enjoyed a larger average audience across an entire series was in 2010 - Matt Smith's first year in the title role.

Jodie also had a higher than the equivalent figure for David Tennant's second series as the Doctor in 2007.

Full ratings are different from overnight ratings as they include people who recorded a programme and watched up to seven days later.

Audiences for Jodie's individual episodes as the Doctor slipped across the series from 10.54 million for episode one to 6.24 million for episode nine.

Episode 10, the series finale, saw ratings climb slightly to 6.48 million, according to the latest official figures from Barb.

The BBC has already confirmed that the actress will return for a new series of Doctor Who - but not until 2020.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
