«Breaking News» Ivanka and Jared come under fire for enjoying Mar-a-Lago vacation during government shut down

Social media torched Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump on Wednesday after the President’s daughter and her husband were photographed on vacation while the federal government was partially shut down.

The Kushners, who are senior advisers to the President and are technically considered federal employees, were seen on Christmas Day out and about at the Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.

DailyMail.com photographers snapped pictures of Ivanka Trump jogging around the grounds of the estate alongside a Secret Service agent.

Hours later, the couple was seen taking a leisurely stroll.

The first daughter walked hand-in-hand with her husband wearing a slinky long green spaghetti strap dress around Mar-a-Lago.

But Trump teamed her item, ideal for the Florida sun, with a full straw straw visor hat embellished with a black ribbon to accommodate her bun hairstyle.

Accompanied by a Secret Service team, Trump clutched a pile of books as the men helped her cross the road.

Twitter users were angered by the images of senior advisers to the President taking a relaxing vacation in the Florida sun while some 400,000 federal employees are forced to continue working through the holiday season without being paid during the shut down.

President Donald Trump, Ivanka’s father, has refused to authorize further funding of the federal government until Congress agrees to his demand for billions of dollars toward a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

The Twitter responses to the images were scathing.

‘Nepotism is so much fun,’ tweeted one Twitter user.

Anne Kiefer tweeted: ‘Because when you're only playing government, you can take a break anytime you want.’

‘Hard to imagine the top advisors to any other president going on vacation during a government shutdown,’ tweeted Tommy Vietor, a former Obama administration official.

In response to DailyMail.com’s photographs showing Ivanka Trump’s summer dress and straw hat, author Molly Jong-Fast tweeted: ‘Ivanka Trump is much more deft at crafting outfits than policy but then she has experience with the outfit crafting, so there’s that.’

Another Twitter user tweeted: ‘Enjoy your vacation while Secret Service agents work (w/o paychecks) to protect you instead of spending time with their families.’

One Twitter user posted a meme from the movie Office Space showing the famous scene in which John C. McGinley and Paul Willson ask Richard Riehle: ‘What would you say...you do here?’

Kurt Bardella tweeted: ‘Clearly the “federal workers” [President Trump] reference in his tweet yesterday who he says have encouraged him to keep the government shut down were Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner who are reportedly on vacation.’

When Ivanka Trump posted a harmless ‘Merry Christmas! Xx’ tweet on Tuesday, Walter Shaub, a former ethics official who resigned from the Trump administration in protest, tweeted: ‘Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner traveling during the Trump shutdown means Secret Service agents who are not currently receiving paychecks missed Christmas with their families so they could escort wealthy nepotists with no conception of public service.’

President Trump claimed over the weekend that federal workers were encouraging him to keep the government shut down until his demands for border security are met.

Kurt Bardella, a former Breitbart spokesperson who became a Democrat after Trump’s election, tweeted: ‘Clearly the “federal workers” [President Trump] reference in his tweet yesterday who he says have encouraged him to keep the government shut down were Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner who are reportedly on vacation.’

The implication in the meme is that Ivanka Trump doesn’t have a real job title and is only in government because her father is President.

As of late Wednesday there was still no indication that negotiations between the White House and Congress were progressing to the point where the end of the shut down is within sight.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
