«Breaking News» Human remains found in Florida believed to be missing woman

Human remains uncovered in a Florida field following an anonymous tip off are believed to belong to an aspiring pharmacist who vanished eight years ago.

Police found the remains in a field in Miami Gardens late Wednesday as part of their investigation into Lynda Meier's 2010 disappearance.

It is not yet clear if the remains belong to the 40-year-old missing woman.

The remains were found about three feet underground near a home that is currently being built.

A private investigator hired by Meier's family told the Sun Sentinel that authorities believe it is her body.

Investigator Paul Smerechniak said the woman's mother Phylis Meier received a call from detectives about the development in the case.

Meier's mother is said to 'ecstatic' about the news her daughter's remains have been found.

'Obviously it's bittersweet,' Smerechniak said. 'Her death is something everybody has accepted for a long time. She's just overjoyed that in her lifetime she was found.'

Authorities received an anonymous tip off about the search location, the Miami Herald reports.

Police have been searching the wooded area around the property in the 3900 block of Northwest 215th Street in Miami Gardens all week since receiving the tip from a source.

The body was discovered at around 5pm Wednesday in the woods between a construction site and a wooden home.

Meier was last seen on surveillance video leaving her home in Hallandale Beach in June 2010.

Meier was last seen on surveillance video leaving her home in Hallandale Beach in June 2010. Her Cadillac Escalade was found abandoned a week later in a parking lot 10 miles away

Meier, who had graduated from Nova Southeastern University pharmacy school, was due to pick up her mother for a doctor's appointment but she failed to show up.

Her red Cadillac Escalade was found abandoned a week later in a parking lot less than 10 miles away.

Police questioned two ex-felons who have long been considered persons of interest but were never charged.

The two men, Antwan Kennedy and Dallas King, were caught on surveillance using Meier's ATM card at two banks the same day she vanished.

Meier met Kennedy while working as a young volunteer, and the two became friends.

Kennedy was also the last person to talk to Meier over the phone before she disappeared.

His friend King was later caught trying to use Meier's credit cards after she went missing.

Both men were persons of interest in the case but neither was arrested nor charged.

King is now in prison serving life for an armed robbery with a deadly weapon.

Authorities have previously searched a block of land in Miami Gardens back in 2011.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
