«Breaking News» Game Of Thrones to include the biggest battle in TV history when epic final season returns

The biggest and most ambitiously scaled battle scenes in TV history will serve as a dramatic centrepiece when the final season of Game of Thrones airs in 2019.

The hugely popular HBO show, based on the author George RR Martin’s epic fantasy novel series, is set to end in the New Year after a hugely successful nine-year run.

And fans have been given an insight into its eighth and final season, almost two years after the Night King and his army of White Walkers breached the wall separating their wintery, uncharted lands from the seven kingdoms of Westeros.

Speaking to Hungarian website Sorozat Wiki, actor Vladimir Furdik - who plays the Night King - admitted a prolonged battle scene will ensue during the opening episodes of the new season.

'In the third part of the last season, there is a battle that the creators intend to be the biggest in television history,' he explained.  'Almost the full episode will be about the battle, it will take about an hour.'

The length of the battle would appear to be justified by the length of each episode, with producers already confirming they will exceed the standard 60-minute running time.

Reflecting on the outcome of the show, Furdik refused to be drawn on who will finally win the Iron Throne - with many fans pulled towards favourite Jon Snow, or outsider Brann Stark.

'It would be an amazing surprise, but I can tell you that there will be no shortage in Season 8,' he said.

'There will be a lot of dragons, the Night King will return, and the biggest battle of the season will be completed.'

He added: 'It will be interesting to see what (show runner) David Benioff has found out for the big finale. But I cannot tell more about it.'

It's understood that that the ambitious battle took months to shoot, with principal photography taking place on location in Toome, Northern Ireland.

Tellingly the village, located on the northwest corner of Lough Neagh in County Antrim, is traditionally used to film scenes featuring northern kingdom Winterfell.

Game of Thrones season 8 will return to HBO in April 2019.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
