«Breaking News» Former Red Robin CEO is found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his front yard at age 68

The former CEO of the Red Robin restaurant chain has been found dead of an apparent suicide.


Michael J. Snyder committed suicide on Sunday with a high-powered gun on a bench in the front yard of his home in Washington state, the Yakima County coroner's office told TMZ. He was 68.


No suicide note was found, and police found the body in response to a 911 call, said Chief Deputy Coroner Marshall Slight. 


Snyder and his brothers were the first franchisees of the gourmet burger chain, opening a Red Robin franchise in Yakima in 1979.

They went on to open 14 locations in Washington, Colorado and Idaho, and Snyder became CEO when his franchisee company merged with the Red Robin International in 2000. 


Snyder was was ousted in 2005 over an investigation that found he had misused funds and failed to properly document business trips on charter jets. 


He reportedly remained the single largest individual Red Robin shareholder, with a 6.6 per cent stake in 2007 that would be worth about $29 million today.


Upon news of Snyder's death, friends and former colleagues offered tributes on Facebook.

'I worked with Mike at Red Robin. What a awesome person to work for. We have lost a great man,' wrote Kim Johnson Dauenhauer.


'Mike was the best Boss to work for! Taught me so much not only about business but about life,' wrote John Thomas. 'My favorite line when we would walk into a high level meeting when we were building Red Robins. He would always introduce himself as 'Mike Snyder.... Fertilizer.''


Colorado-based Red Robin has 566 locations in North America, including 480 company-owned restaurants located in 39 states and two Canadian provinces, and 86 franchise locations.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
