A dad blogger from Nottingham could be set to beat US singing sensations Ariana Grande and Ava Max to the Christmas Number One, after releasing a novelty single in the hope of raising a bit of money for charity.
YouTuber Mark Hoyle, 31, from West Bridgford, Nottingham - known as LadBaby - has unexpectedly stormed up the charts with 'We Built This City...On Sausage Rolls', a parody of the 1985 Starship song.
He is currently at number two in the official midweek charts with his release, which currently has 16,754 combined streams and sales, ahead of Ariana Grande's Thank U, Next, but 978 behind Ava Max's 'Sweet but Psycho.'
It's all the more remarkable as Mark, who is donating all profits to The Trussell Trust, which runs food banks around the UK, has never sung before in his life - even at karaoke - and initially recorded the single as a joke.
'I’m not someone that sings in the shower, which everyone can probably hear if they’ve listened to the song,' the father-of-two told Femail. 'There's no doubting my voice isn’t quite as good as Ariana’s, but if we can knock a megastar off the top spot with a sausage roll and raise money for charity at the same time, then brilliant.'

And he hasn't got long to wait to find out if he's joining the likes of The Beatles and The Spice Girls in achieving a Christmas number one, as the chart topper will be announced tomorrow.
Mark and his wife Roxanne have amassed more than 470,000 followers on YouTube by chronicling the trials and tribulations of raising their sons Phoenix Forest and Kobe Notts.
They share hilarious videos about parenting and budgeting on YouTube, Facebook and other social media platforms.
And the idea for the charity single all started as a joke, too.
'About six months ago, someone who follows my LadBaby blog and knew my love for sausage rolls tweeted me as a joke,' explained Mark.

In the video, Mark's unsuspecting wife Roxanne looks shocked to find him behind a microphone, before exclaiming: 'You can't sing!' Then she joins in the fun
'He was like, one day you should release this song. I just laughed it off but then downloaded the original version and started playing it for my little boy Phoenix, who was two at the time. He loved it. I thought, if he’s up for it, then so am I. It just snowballed from there.’
In the video for 'We Built this City...On Sausage Rolls', Mark's unsuspecting wife Roxanne walks into a recording to find him behind the microphone.
'You can't sing!' she exclaims, to which he replies: 'Don't worry about that – we'll tune it or whatever!'.
Singing about one of the public's favourite pastries, the lyrics include: 'If you've never had one, And don't recognise the taste.
'It's a cylindrical bit of pork wrapped, In a puff pastry case.'

But while the whole concept of singing about a sausage roll may be a joke, the charity single comes with a serious message.
There are 14 million people in the UK live below the poverty line. 4 million of these are children,' reads the shocking statistics which flash up on the screen.
And the profits are being donated to The Trussell Trust - which aims to stop hunger in the UK. It's a charity very close to Mark's heart.
‘About two years ago, when we first became parents, we had to go down to a single-parent income,' said the blogger.
Ava Max is currently top of the midweek charts - but can Mark knock her off that number-one spot just in time for Christmas?
'It was something we wasn’t prepared for. We really did struggle for a long while. We never actually used a food bank but we were on the verge and had to do some research into it. Thankfully we were fortunate not to ever need one, but we know what it’s like trying to struggle to make ends meet.'
While celebrities haven't got in touch to share their support, Mark's been overwhelmed by the positive reaction he's received from the public.
'We don’t need celebrities…we’ll do this with the people,’ he said.

And no matter what the outcome tomorrow, Mark and Roxanne will be celebrating.
'Today I’ve been the most popular I’ve ever been in my life,' Mark joked. 'Whatever the result, my wife will make us get a takeaway. She loves that – any excuse.
'I’ll no doubt have a fridge full of sausage rolls because anyone I meet has given me one.
'We’re going to have a lot of eating and we’ll put the kids to bed and pop open some bubbly to celebrate.’

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
