Chris Noth has rubbished reports that his Sex And The City character, Mr Big, was going to be killed off in the cancelled third movie in the franchise.
It was recently said that the planned third film would see Carrie Bradshaw's husband die, but Chris, 64, has insisted this is untrue.
Speaking to The Sun at the British Independent Film Awards, he said: 'There's no drama there's no movie there's nothing going on with it, it's over it’s gone. He wasn't going to die.
Rumours: Chris Noth has rubbished reports that his Sex And The City character, Mr Big, was going to be killed off in the cancelled third movie in the franchise
'There's no way he was dying. That was all a lie.'
When asked if he believed the rumour could have been started by actress Kim Cattrall who famously declined to participate in a third film, Chris said he was not sure.
Chris was a fixture on Sex And The City from the show's debut in 1998 until it wrapped in 2004 and he returned to reprise his role in both films, released in 2008 and 2010.
Despite the years spent together on set, the actor admitted he has not kept in touch with the show's cast.
Putting it to rest: Chris said at a red carpet event: 'There's no drama there's no movie there's nothing going on with it, it's over it’s gone. He wasn't going to die'
Moved on: Despite the years spent together on set, the actor admitted he has not kept in touch with the show's cast, including Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays his onscreen wife Carrie
He said: 'No I don't speak to anyone we're all living our lives raising children some of us at least.'
The Law & Order star insisted there was no bad blood between himself and the rest of the cast but that it happens often that actors won't see each other anymore after their roles end due to their busy schedules.
There had been rumours throughout filming of the iconic HBO series that Sarah Jessica Parker, 53, and Kim, who played Samantha Jones, did not get along.
Both women dismissed these allegations several times. In 2010, Kim told the Daily Mail: 'I think Sarah was right: people don’t want to believe that we get on. They have too much invested in the idea of two strong, successful women fighting with each other.
Busy: Chris insisted there was no bad blood between himself and the rest of the cast but that it happens often that actors won't see each other anymore after their roles end
'It makes for juicy gossip and copy. The truth of us being friends and getting along and happily doing our jobs together is nowhere near as newsworthy. I think Sarah is fantastic.'
It was reported last year that plans for the third film ground to a halt due to Kim making numerous demands in order to agree to the project.
Speaking on Piers Morgan's Life Stories, the actress insisted this was not true
'And now, now at this very moment it’s quite extraordinary to get any kind of negative press about something that I’ve been saying for almost a year of "no" that I’m demanding or a diva.
Filming: There had been rumours throughout filming of the iconic HBO series that Parker, 53, (far right) and Kim, who played Samantha Jones, (second right) did not get along
'I never asked for any money, I never asked for any projects, to be thought of as some kind of diva is absolutely ridiculous.
'This is really where I take to task the people from and specifically Sarah Jessica Parker in that I think she could have been nicer. I really think she could have been nicer.'
The Golden Globe winner also stated her desire to close one chapter of her life and move on to another.
In February, Kim announced the death of her brother, which led Sarah to send her condolences through Instagram.
Movie: It was reported last year that the third film was put to a half due to Kim making numerous demands in order to agree to the project which Kim said was untrue
She wrote: 'Dearest Kim, my love and condolences to you and yours and Godspeed to your beloved brother. Xx.'
In response, Kim wrote the following in an Instagram post: 'My Mom asked me today, “When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?'
'Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now. Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend.
'So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona.'
Hitting out: In February, Kim announced the death of her brother, which led Sarah to send her condolences through Instagram prompting a furious response from Kim (above)
Speaking to People Magazine, Sarah responded by saying she and her former co-star were not in a feud and she didn't want the recent reports to affect fans' image of the show.
She said: 'We had a connection with an audience, and we had a connection with the city and with this crew, and we got to tell these crazy stories with each other.
'So I don’t want to mess with that. I couldn’t imagine anyone else playing that part. So there was no fight; it was completely fabricated, because I actually never responded.
'And I won’t, because she needed to say what she needed to say, and that is her privilege.”
Response: Sarah said recently: 'I couldn’t imagine anyone else playing [Samantha's] part. So there was no fight; it was completely fabricated, because I actually never responded'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
