«Breaking News» Britons suffer another year of appalling returns with ISAs offering just 13p interest for £100

Savers have suffered another year of appalling returns on their nest eggs – with one cash ISA offering just 13p in interest for every £100.

Many families with cash in the bank are stuck with rates below inflation, meaning savings lose value in real terms.

Santander offered the worst ISA, paying just 0.1 per cent until September before increasing this to 0.2.

A customer with £20,000 in the account at the start of 2018 would have pocketed interest of £26.28, or 13p for every £100.

Next worst was Principality Building Society, which had a rate of 0.2 per cent all year, according to analysis by consumer group Savings Champion.

Many of the worst performers have not even bothered to increase rates this year, despite the rise by the Bank of England to 0.75 per cent.

Some accounts run by Principality, Virgin Money, Bank of Scotland, Santander and TSB were not increased.

Anna Bowes, of Savings Champion, said: ‘Making sure your tax-free cash ISA is working as hard as possible is vital.’

The situation was even worse in 2017 when one Natwest ISA paid just 0.01 per cent for most of the year.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
