«Breaking News» Andy Cohen reveals on Watch What Happens Live that he's expecting baby via surrogate in six weeks

Andy Cohen revealed at the end of Watch What Happens Live on Thursday that he's expecting a baby.

The 50-year-old Bravo executive spoke directly to viewers at the end of the chat show's final live broadcast of 2018.

'If all goes according to plan, in six weeks time I am going to become a father,' Cohen said.

He added that a 'wonderful surrogate' was 'carrying my future' while sharing the personal news.

Cohen has been hosting WWHL since July 2009 and is the first openly gay host of a US late-night talk show.

He was Bravo's executive vice president of development and talent until 2013 and remains an executive producer of The Real Housewives franchise.

Cohen made the announcement after welcoming five original cast members from the Real Housewives franchise in an episode titled O Come OG Faithful.

Original housewives: Orange County's Vicki Gunvalson, New York's Ramona Singer, Atlanta's NeNe Leakes, New Jersey's Teresa Giudice and Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards were guests

They were seated in order of appearance on Bravo starting with Orange County's Vicki Gunvalson, New York's Ramona Singer, Atlanta's NeNe Leakes, New Jersey's Teresa Giudice and Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards.

Cohen said that Luann de Lesseps of RHONY couldn't be there due to a cabaret show performance, Lisa Vanderpump of RHOBH was in Las Vegas for a restaurant opening and RHONY's Bethenny Frankel was feeling 'under the weather'.

The Housewives during the half-hour show fielded questions from an animated Frosty The Shademan.

Cohen also played a few games with them including Word To The Wife! and Every Time A Bell Rings A Housewife Gets Her Wig.

Vicki, 56, admitted during the latter game that she doesn't like newcomers on the Bravo reality show.

Cohen thanked his guests for coming out to New York City for the special episode before sharing the personal news with viewers.

Cohen from 2012 to 2016 was listed in Out magazine's annual tally of Most Powerful Gay People.

He is a two-time Peabody Award winner and won an Emmy Award in 2010 as executive producer of Bravo's Top Chef.

Cohen and good friend Anderson Cooper, 51, will co-host CNN's New Year's Eve Live at the end of the month.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
