The so-called Strictly Curse has touched many of the show's stars and their pro dancers over the years - including over the past few weeks.
But ballroom pro AJ Pritchard has touched upon his own version of the curse: namely that in his three seasons on the show, he has fallen at the Semi-Final hurdle each time.
'I am hoping that this year will be a case of third time lucky,' the 24-year-old told MailOnline ahead of Saturday's show. 'I always want to get to the final and to win. But this one's hard because I "extra" want it. But not just for me, for Lauren too.'

AJ is partnered with Paralympian Lauren Steadman, 25, having previously coached singer Mollie King and Claudia Fragapane, whom he came in fifth place with in 2017 and fourth place with in 2016 respectively.
As tends to be the case with both Strictly and it's 'curse', fans have in the past enjoyed speculating whether or not AJ and his partners over the years have hit it off romantically.
But AJ has dismissed such rumours, insisting such things don't enter his mind while he's in full Strictly mode.
'Everyone is interested in everyone else's love lives but we have no time for all that,' he said. 'We don't have time for anything other than training, dancing and competing. We are in rehearsals from 8AM - 10PM every day.

Lauren Steadman has made it to the semi-finals of Strictly Come Dancing so we’ll get to see another weekend of glitz and glamour from her. But back in October she dazzled at the Pride of Britain Awards alongside dancing partner, AJ Pritchard.

'So I don't even let scenarios like that get into my head - not inside nor outside the dance studio.'
He went on: 'Focus is the secret to success. Focus and enjoying whatever it is you're doing. Without focus we won't make the final.'

This year alone Katya Jones and Dianne Buswell have been linked romantically to their celeb partners Seann Walsh and Joe Sugg.
While it's purely speculative with Dianne and Joe - even insisting during a TV interview on Wednesday that they are 'too busy' preparing for the finale to think about romance [but not actually denying it] - Katya and Seann were caught kissing in the street weeks ago, prior to Seann being eliminated from the competition.
Rubbing salt into that particular would, Katya is married to fellow dancer Neil Jones, with the pair putting on strained demonstrations of solidarity at public appearances ever since.
But it appears there's none of that for AJ and Lauren.

'This weekend is a big one. It's a big occasion. There is twice as much to get into my head and my body,' said Lauren, also speaking to MailOnline on Wednesday. 'There's not really any time to get nervous or to make any mistakes.'
AJ added: 'That's what training is for anyway, removing those mistakes.'
Lauren went on: 'Yes, there's extra added pressure as it's the semis. There are just two more dances between this and final. But honestly, I think it's 50 percent nerves and 50 percent pressure.'
Lauren's career as a Paralympian means she has helped to 'normalise' her disability during her time on Strictly, and to 'encourage' people, she says.
Lauren went on: 'Yes, there's extra added pressure as it's the semis. There are just two more dances between this and final. But honestly, I think it's 50 percent nerves and 50 percent pressure'
Of the possibility of winning, she added: 'It would be the icing on the cake. And the cherry on the cake'
'I have been getting beautiful messages from adults and children, both able and disabled. It's magical to read them. And if that's the only thing that comes out of this, that I have inspired others, then I am happy with that,' she said. 'I am in a privileged position to make an impact on the public.'
Of the possibility of winning, she added: 'It would be the icing on the cake. And the cherry on the cake.
'13 weeks on Strictly has been such an inspiring experience. I've had the time of my life.'
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday evening on BBC One.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
