«Breaking News» Queen's glovemaker has finally 'got' Kate after she was seen wearing gloves in Dundee

The glovemaker to the Queen has graced the Duchess of Cambridge's mitts once again in Dundee this week - proving that Cornelia James has finally 'got' Kate.

Back in 2012, Cornelia's daughter Genevieve Lawson, who now runs the firm, admitted she had plans to have Kate Middleton wear her stylish gloves.

And it seems sending her samples worked, with the Duchess wearing Cornelia James styles on a number of occasions since 2013.

That year, Kate stepped out in a pair of chocolate merino wool gloves in the Imogen style, which features a bow on the wrist, for a day out at the Cheltenham Festival.

Just days later she chose a pair in the same £75 style, but in black, for a visit to the Child Bereavement UK headquarters in Buckinghamshire.

For a visit to New York in 2014, the Duchess of Cambridge once again wore a pair of black gloves by the designer.

Three years later, in March 2017, Kate chose the same style and colour to keep the cold at bay for a rugby match in Paris.

And it was the same pair that she wore in Dundee for a trip to the V&A in Dundee earlier this week - perhaps cementing the style as Kate's favourite for the winter season.

But for a cold January morning in Sandringham last year, she chose a pair of gloves with a faux fur trim in the £100 Clementine style, perfectly matching her Russian style hat.

It seems the Duchess of Cambridge is following in the footsteps of the Queen, who reuses gloves and sends them back for repairs instead of buying new ones.

The Queen has been wearing gloves by the designer since her wedding in 1947, when dress designer Norman Hartnell ordered a pair of plain white cotton gloves for her going-away outfit.

Her Majesty wears cotton gloves during the day, and nylon gloves for evening events, keeping several identical pairs in case they get dirty from handshaking.

MailOnline etiquette expert William Hanson says Kate adopting one of the Queen's favourite brands is a logical decision after joining the royal family in 2011.

He said: 'The Duchess of Cambridge’s style certainly has become more regal over the years since she married into the royal family - and rightly so, she will one day be Queen to Prince William’s King.

'Originally Catherine was reticent to take advice from those who had been there and done that on her style but she is much more willing to listen and learn from others - to her own benefit and that if the monarchy.

Although Cornelia James gloves can cost between £75 and £240, Kate should be buying them at a discount after Genevieve revealed she sells the gloves to royal clients at trade price — about a third cheaper.

Genevieve told the Daily Mail in 2012: '[Kate]'s so gorgeous. I have a plan to get her. I'm going to make the ultimate ski gloves — functional, but luxurious.

'They will be leather with possum fur, as possum isn't endangered... a little fur cuff. How cute!

'I'm going to send them off and hope she wears them.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
