«Breaking News» Nevada porch pirate steals 14-year-old cancer patient's life-saving chemotherapy medicine

A Nevada porch pirate nonchalantly stole a package containing a young cancer patient's life-saving chemotherapy medicine in Las Vegas, on Thursday.

Gage Haynes, 14, has been fighting system mastocytosis - a rare cancer found when mast cells gather in the body's tissue - since he was six-months-old.

But his health has now been left in jeopardy after an opportunistic porch pirate stole a batch of pills the teen needs to take every day to keep his cancer at bay.

The family have now launched a n urgent appeal to find the culprit, after Gage's mother, Stacey Shavinski, reveals she paid $40,000 for the medicine with the help of financial assistance.

He then bent down, scooped two parcels into his arms and slowly walked off. One of the packages contained Gage's medicine, Ryedapt, which he needs to take every day

'Once I realized it was my son's medication, then I got upset,' Stacey told KLAS-TV.

'I worked really hard to get him that.

'You're not just taking a pair of pants or a shirt, you're taking something that is keeping somebody alive.'

Wearing a baseball cap, sunglasses and a plaid shirt, the brazen thief casually strolls up to the Haynes' front door, stacks to packages on top of one another and walks off.

The family hope footage of the man captured on their doorbell cam will help lead to his apprehension, or prompt him to return the medication.

Stacey says she was forced to pay for the pills, called Ryedapt, out of her own pocket because they aren't FDA approved for anyone under 18.

Gage has spent much of his life in and out of the hospital, and he says the pills help make him feel better.

Mast cells are produced by the body's bone marrow, but when they accumulate in the organ, it can cause side effects of muscle pain, skin irritation, vomiting and mood swings.

In the case of Gage, the cells can also become cancerous and the rare condition is very difficult to treat.

The family say they don't want public attention from the theft, they just want their property returned.

'We've finally found a way to help [the cancer]. My whole life there's really been nothing else,' said Gage.

'It really helps me out a lot. I would feel a lot better, so I can go to school, get good grade, get a job - so please just return it.'

Stacey is currently speaking with the pharmaceutical company about the possibility of an emergency delivery, should the package not be recovered.

The vital medicine will cost Stacey $40,000 every month for the next year, after which she hopes her son will be cured.

The family have set up a GoFundMe page to help cover the staggering costs.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
