«Breaking News» Vijay Singh (55) shows off staggering fitness regime, including smashing tyres with his golf clubs

With three majors, 64 professional wins and a spell as world No 1 behind him, you'd think Vijay Singh would be happy to kick back and enjoy the $71million he's won on the golf course during his long career.

Not a chance. Instead the Big Fijian has started a gruelling workout regime ahead of the new golf season. That includes hurling giant tyres as far as he can, smashing tyres with a sledgehammer, catching, throwing and crunches with heavy medicine balls, resistance training, pounding the floor either side of him with a ball on a rope, whacking yet more tyres with a golf club, and whipping battle ropes.

He's 55 by the way.

Singh's glory years, which included victories in the 2005 Masters, and 1998 and 2004 USPGA Championships, are long behind him but he still clearly has a thirst for victory.

He competes now on the PGA Champions Tour, for the over 50s, where everyone is whooped most weeks by the incredible Bernhard Langer. Singh did, however, claim the big prizes of the Senior Players' Championship and the season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship.

Explaining his exhausting-looking workout regime, Singh said he was attempting to get more speed into his golf swing with the aim of winning even more in 2019.

'Heading into the New Year stronger and better with the help of my man Jeff Fronk,' he said on Twitter. 'Always looking to improve wherever and whenever I can. Have a Happy New Year everyone! #cominginhot'

Singh's work ethic is legendary in the golfing world – he used to go to the driving range to hit 300 balls after playing a round. His quest for improvement landed him in hot water in 2013 when he admitted using deer-antler spray, which contains a banned substance, although he claimed he did not know this and was subsequently cleared of wrongdoing.

Of his new fitness regime, Singh told the PGA Tour: 'I told myself I am going to pick it up this coming season. I'm doing a lot more workouts and a lot more dynamic workouts.

'I want to be a factor next year, a serious factor. I want people chasing me, not me chasing them.'

As a past green jacket winner, the results of Singh's sweaty new year will be on show during the Masters in April, where he has not had a top-10 finish in 12 years.

Link hienalouca.com Interesting to note Looking for an investor or sponsor for a project to grow dinosaurs and relict plants. Requires the sum of investments from 400000$ to 900000$. The exact amount can not say because there are many nuances. It will be necessary to build a small laboratory with certain parameters. To all interested persons please write on an email angocman@gmail.com . It is the scientific project and I do not know whether it is possible to earn on it. The probability of success of the project is approximately 60%. That will be very interesting.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
