A State Farm insurance agency owner appointed to the University of Alaska's Board of Regents this month, has apologized after the discovery of old social media posts calling the former First Lady a man and joking about sexual misconduct allegations against Brett Kavanaugh.
Tammy Randolph, 57, was nominated by Governor Mike Dunleavy but after her controversial image online was made apparent, she denied being racist or homophobic and admitted she didn't think the tweets would be connected to her professionally when she made offensive statements.
It came after the Alaska Democrats questioned her possible role on Facebook, writing last Friday that she is 'hyper-partisan' and 'just what our university DOESN'T need. This is outrageous.'
Tammy Randolph, 57, apologized for her social media past Wednesday after Alaska Democrats highlighted controversial posts in last several months
Randolph said she retweeted this meme and said 'she's a he' because Michelle Obama dresses like a man but she claimed she's not homophobic or racist
Randolph said she thought the meme (left) featuring OJ Simpson's 'acquit' trial moment was funny in the context of Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh's (right) nomination hearing
Within the post they shared several examples of how Randolph was not the best fit, as the woman awaits confirmation from the Alaska Board of Regents.
Her September 29, 2018 post showed OJ Simpson's late attorney Johnnie Cochran during the infamous 'if the glove don't fit, you must acquit' moment that is believed to be the force behind the sportsman being found not guilty in the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.
Instead, a meme Randolph shared read: 'If there was no sperm, you must confirm.' Alongside it she wrote with 'three crying with laughter' emoji: '#MAGA #ConfirmKavanaugh #WalkAway The adult in the room will get this.'
Exactly three months later she shared a meme featuring a collage of various Michelle Obama outfits that read: 'Just a quick reminder of how bad it was.'
Randolph added her own caption of: 'Well, she's a he, so…'
Despite her own commentary, she seemed to make a case that she shouldn't be so attached to the memes because she was sharing content already created.

Another retweet encouraged Democrats to go out to vote on the wrong day last year
'Uninstalling Deep State': Randolph said her online posts were done without thinking
'It's just retweeting, but it doesn't mean that I endorse it,' she told the Anchorage Daily News.
Randolph also shifted attention to the fact the posts were done before she was nominated in the prestigious role where she'd be in a team of 11 people that appoint the university's president and make budget decisions.
She continued that she didn't expect the posts to come back and haunt her as she awaits confirmation for the eight-year term.
'While the comments were made over a period of time prior to this appointment, I believe that I owe a sincere apology for the tone of my messages and the harsh language that was used,' Randolph wrote in a statement.
'The language expressed was out of boldness and arrogance, as it never occurred to me that they would be seen in the context of a role such as a public figure.'
Randolph brushed off insensitive comments about Obama's gender to her dress sense being akin to a male, in her opinion.
The woman added that she thought the meme was funny at the time and she felt the same about the one using the Simpson case in the context of Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh's nomination hearing.
She referenced support for conspiracy theorists QAnon in a post she captioned 'God bless'
Randolph said the social media posts are not endorsement and said it's 'entertainment'
'I just didn't like her fashion sense, so I was equating it to the fact, well, most guys don't have fashion sense,' Randolph said. 'It wasn't meant to offend. It wasn't racist. It wasn't homophobic. I'm not any of those things. It wasn't anything other than I found it amusing.'
Although Randolph denied her social media activity reflected her true beliefs, many of the posts aligned.
These include December 4 and 18 posts that reference conspiracy theorists QAnon, who have made outlandish claims about agencies trying to bring down Donald Trump's administration.
'Thank you,' Randolph captioned one post about 'uninstalling the Deep State'. 'Your country will be restored soon' the December 14 share read.
Another retweet encouraged Democrats to go out to vote on the wrong day and her New Year's Eve 'Spygate' reading on a beach in Maui showed support for QAnon by using their hashtag #wwg1wga which stands for 'where we go one, we go all'.
Despite her nonchalance about her social media past, Randolph made her Twitter account private before deleting it altogether, according to the newspaper.
Although she called her activity on the micro-blogging website 'strictly entertainment' Fairbanks Daily News-Miner claimed after a request for her response regarding the posts she blocked accounts associated with the publication last week.
The newspaper claimed she then created another account which was subsequently deleted.
Board chair John Davies (left) supports Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy's (right) decision
However the board seemed to still back her, at least chair John Davies did during a chat with the News-Miner.
'I would have no comment on a regent's personal business,' Davies told them. However he continued: 'As we were losing a great local businesswoman this month from the board, we had asked the governor to take that into account in making his appointments to our board.
'We were pleased that the governor appointed a businesswoman from Fairbanks to replace Jo Heckman, who was termed out after serving so well for eight years.'
It doesn't mean plan won't change however.
The governor's press secretary last week announced Art Chance would not accept his role as a Department of Administration policy adviser after his own controversial social media posts did the rounds.
Commissioner of the Alaska Department of Administration Jonathan Quick resigned regarding accusations of lies on his CV.
Alaska Democrats referenced it in their post about Randolph: 'The Dunleavy appointments just keep coming - one worse than the next.
' First, the Commissioner of Admin resigns after being caught fabricating his resume and lying to Senators. Then another in the department leaves because of vile, misogynistic and racist Facebook posts, and now THIS.'

Tammy Randolph,...
It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
