«Breaking News» Siberians moan it is too warm for 'icelashes' - because it is -49F!

As Britain is warned about a new 'Beast from the East' with snow and plummeting temperatures, in Siberia locals are complaining it's too warm - at minus 49F (-45C).

Wedding shop worker Anastasia Gruzdeva, 25, bemoaned not getting quite the same natural look on her frozen eyelashes as last year - when it was ten degrees colder.

This year's picture was taken on the same day as in 2018, but the most impressive ice extensions only come at below minus 58F (-50C), she said.

'This winter is a bit "warmer", so the new pictures cannot be compared with (last year's),' she said, wishing for 'fifty degrees of frost' for perfect 'icelashes'.

Anastasia works in a wedding shop in Yakutsk, the world's coldest city, six time zones east of Moscow.

Some 575 miles northwest in Oymyakon - the planet's most frozen permanent settlement known as the 'Pole of Cold' - Moldovan man Dmitry Voloshin has just completed a 50 kilometre (31 mile) 'ultra-marathon' run at a temperature of minus 76F (-60C).

He is believed to be the first runner to attain this distance in such conditions independently without the support of doctors or rescuers, and was today hailed as 'the bravest runner on Earth'.

One reading showed that the bone-chilling conditions felt even colder - at minus 90F (67.8C).

'It was like going into outer space,' he said, moments after finishing. 'The frost is horrendous, there is not enough oxygen. Awful - never repeat it.'

Later he said: 'No equipment can protect you from such cold. It was incredibly hard to breathe as my mask was covered with ice, and air just wasn't getting through.

'This was the hardest, most difficult run in my career. The last kilometre was the toughest. I could barely see and breathe. I felt my energy was running out.

'The only thing that held me in one piece was the willpower when you order yourself to feel pain - but not to suffer from it.

'I had issues with my eye sight for some time after the run but now the vision is back properly.

'My legs ache and my face was frostbitten, but it's all right as I am feeling well and happy.'

The village claims a temperature of minus 96.2F (-71.2C) was recorded in 1924.

Today in Yakutsk, the world's coldest city, thermometers were milder - at minus 49F (-45C), but low enough for young children up to 11 to miss school.

But secondary age students still had to attend classes. Those aged 12 to 14 only get a day off if the morning temperature sinks to minus 54F (-48C).

Older students must turn up for classes unless the cold is minus 45.5F (-50C) or below. For comparison, Britain has never had a recorded temperature below minus 34.4F (-30C).

The airport remained open and workers were expected to turn up at offices. Still, many believe the cold is not what it used to be.

Kalinda posted: 'Wonder if we are getting hit by greenhouse effect?' Boruh wrote: 'Winters used to be so much colder.

'When I was little, we breathed with relief when the temperature rose above minus 58F (-50C).

'It meant that we were finally allowed to play outdoors.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
