«Breaking News» SAG Awards 2019: Hugh Grant's wife Anna Eberstein wows in black mini

Hugh Grant's depiction of Jeremy Thorpe in A Very English Scandal learned him a nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie.

And hoping he did enough to secure the win, Hugh Grant attended the 25th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards at the Shrine Auditorium in LA on Sunday evening.

The 58-year-old actor was joined by his wife Anna Eberstein, who looked sensational in a thigh-grazing black mini dress as she showed her support on the red carpet.

Anna displayed her toned pins in the stylish sleeveless number, which featured silver buttoned detailing along the shoulders.

She accessorised with look with a pair of statement sparkling drop earrings, and a branded chunky silver bangle, while clutching a sequined evening bag in her hand.

The television producer added extra inches to her already statuesque frame, with a pair of strappy stilettos, which featured a pointed toe.

Opting for light touches of neutrally-toned make-up, Anna also sported an understated hair style, sweeping her chestnut locks back off her face.

Meanwhile, Hugh looked equally dashing in a simple black tuxedo, which he paired with a crisp white shirt and black bow tie.

Hugh is up against Anthony Hopkins in King Lear and Bill Pullman in The Sinner in his category at the awards ceremony.

The three-part drama tells the story of Liberal Party member Jeremy Thorpe, who fell from grace after he was put on trial for conspiracy and incitement to murder in connection to an attempted hit on his ex-lover, Norman Scott - played by Ben.

And Hugh noted the love-making scene in particular, where his character suggests applying Vaseline as lubrication, as he celebrated the exciting recognition from the Hollywood Foreign Press.

Speaking of the racy scene a few months earlier, Hugh admitted that while his father Captain James Murrary Grant, 89, supported him with the venture - he wasn't too keen on seeing the scene.

Hugh told the Edinburgh Television Festival: 'My father had been very supportive and I go to see him every Sunday night and that first Sunday night it was broadcast he said "isn’t your poof film on tonight?" – he’s ex military, you see.

'And he’s 89. And I said "yes, Dad" and he said we should watch it, I have got a television set upstairs and we should go up and dust it off and watch it. And we did.

'He’s very loyal, he said I’m determined to support you always. And we got as far as the Vaseline and he said: "I really am quite tired, I might go to bed",' he revealed.

Meanwhile, Jeremy, who was MP for North Devon from 1959 to 1979 and leader of the Liberal Party between 1967 and 1976, was later acquitted on all charges.

Despite his acquittal, the high-profile trial marked the end of his political career. He passed away in 2014, aged 85.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
