Guests at the Screen Actors Guild Awards were as confused as audiences watching at home when Christian Bale had a surprise outburst Sunday night in the Shrine Auditorium.
The actor shouted 'Gary Oldman!' while the Oscar-winning star took to the stage to announce the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role at the SAG Awards 2019.
Right before it was revealed Glenn Close beat the likes of Lady Gaga and Emily Blunt to the big gong for her performance in The Wife, Oldman had to fight the distraction of his The Dark Knight co-star's shock screams in front of the Hollywood Elite.

Audiences at home didn't fail to notice Bale's yelling at the SAG Awards 2019 on Sunday
Melissa McCarthy – also up for the prize as was Olivia Coleman, who was not in attendance – and some of the other nominees managed to maintain their composure to wait for the big announcement.
But Blunt couldn't help but react with a look of slight disapproval as she looked to her right, Close cringed, Gaga - real name Stefani Germanotta - forced a stern expression of concentration, and McCarthy didn't look impressed.
Oldman himself let out a brief giggle before finally revealing the winner was not Blunt in Mary Poppins Returns, Gaga in A Star Is Born, McCarthy in Can You Forgive Me? or absent Coleman in the Favourite.

Bale previously expressed his admiration for his 2008 Batman movie co-star Oldman, who portrayed Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour.
In 2017 Oldman told The Hollywood Reporter how Bale asked him for advice on transforming into the character as he prepared to do the similar for his role as Dick Cheney in Vice.
'He called me about the jowls because he said, 'Man, that make-up is good',' Oldman told The Hollywood Reporter about the former British Prime Minister's famous looks which he achieved with prosthetics and a fat suit.

In 2018 during an interview with Sam Rockwell for Variety, Bale recalled the moment he found out about Oldman's tricks.
'I talked to Gary about all of that,' Bale explained. 'We had very different approaches to it. I had said, 'I don't know how to do this except I've got to gain the weight myself.' I was in the middle of doing that. I was a large toddler.
'I called up Gary and I said, 'How much weight did you gain for the role?' And he said, 'I didn't gain anything.' I went, 'What?' I was already well down the track. I felt like such an idiot. I didn't understand that [prosthetics and makeup] had come such a long way.'

The pair starred together in the Dark Knight movie back in 2008 and are still friends today

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
