«Breaking News» Nancy Pelosi says Mueller COULD indict Trump while he's in office

Incoming Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said in an interview broadcast Thursday that she opposes arbitrarily impeaching Donald Trump as a partisan exercise, but warned that Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe could result in a presidential indictment.

'We have to wait and see what happens with the Mueller report. We shouldn't be impeaching for a political reason, and we shouldn't avoid impeachment for a political reason,' Pelosi said on the 'TODAY' show.

She believes Mueller could indict Trump despite longstanding Justice Department policy that prevents it: 'I think that is an open discussion in terms of the law.'

The DOJ has taken the position since 2000, guided by its Office of Legal Counsel, that sitting presidents should not be indicted even after prosecutors have exhausted every other legal option.

The framers of the U.S. Constitution gave Congress alone the power to punish the nation's commander-in-chief for misconduct through the impeachment process. The Justice Department itself is a Cabinet agency that answers to the White House.

And '[t]he indictment or criminal prosecution of a sitting President would unconstitutionally undermine the capacity of the executive branch to perform its constitutionally assigned functions,' according to the guidance the DOJ follows.

Pelosi's said Wednesday: 'I do not think that that is conclusive. No I do not.'

That statement leaves open the possibility that the House of Representatives won't take action to impeach Trump, instead tossing the political hot potato back in Mueller's direction.

But Pelosi isn't ruling out impeachment either.

Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway told reporters of Pelosi: 'It doesn't surprise me that she would be so partisan and political on day one'

'Let's just see what Mueller does,' she said. 'That's not the law.'

Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway told reporters at the White House after the Pelosi interview aired that her view 'doesn't concern the president.'

'It doesn't surprise me that she would be so partisan and political on day one,' Conway said.

'I think it's unfortunate that you have an incoming speaker already talking about indictments and impeachment when this president's talking about border security and infrastructure.'

Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani told CNN in May 2018 that Mueller's team had acknowledged their power has limits.

'All they get to do is write a report, Giuliani said then. 'They can’t indict. At least they acknowledged that to us after some battling.'

Pelosi will be elected speaker on Thursday afternoon, returning to the position she held from 2001 to 2011.

Her reprise of that role is the first such return to power since Rep. Sam Rayburn held the post three separate times in the 1040s, 1059s and 1960s.

The exact amount can not say because there are many nuances. It will be necessary to build a small laboratory with certain parameters. To all interested persons please write on an email angocman@gmail.com . It is the scientific project and I do not know whether it is possible to earn on it. The probability of success of the project is approximately 60%. That will be very interesting.

‘We have to wait ...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
