«Breaking News» Matt LeBlanc says a kid on the street once called him 'Joey's dad'

Matt LeBlanc shared an interesting anecdote about his iconic sitcom Friends, revealing that a young kid called him, 'Joey's dad.'

Now that Friends, which ran for 10 seasons from 1994 to 2004, is available to watch on Netflix, LeBlanc stated that, 'it seems like every year there’s a new generation that watches it,' before sharing a humorous story.

'I was walking down the street one day, this was a few years ago, this kid, he must have been 13, 14, he’s like, "Oh my god, you’re Joey’s dad!"' LeBlanc said on Live with Kelly and Ryan on Thursday.

LeBlanc, 51, added, 'And, my response was ‘Scram!" Like an old guy would say.'

While the show has certainly been widely beloved throughout the years, one beef fans have had was been the size of the massive New York City apartment.

Many have questioned how these young twentysomethings living in New York could afford, which host Kelly Ripa questioned as well.

Like LeBlanc's character Joey Tribbiani, Ripa was also working on a soap opera at the time and said that while he lived in a 'palatial loft,' her place could, 'arguably be considered a shoebox with a hot plate and a shoilet, like a shower toilet.'

LeBlanc acknowledged it has been a 'point of contention' because a lot of people have brought it up, before revealing how they 'dealt with it' on the show.

'It was Ross and Monica's grandmother's apartment that was rent-controlled, maybe even their great-grandmother,' LeBlanc said with a laugh.

While Friends has been off the air for nearly 15 years, it made headlines earlier this month when it was reported that Netflix had shelled out $100 million to keep the sitcom on the streaming service.

Netflix had previously been paying $30 million a year to WarnerMedia since 2015 for the show, but when fans noticed the show was set to leave on January 1, Netflix responded. 

'The Holiday Armadillo has granted your wish: Friends will still be there for you in the US throughout 2019,' Netflix announced Monday via Twitter.

The series turned LeBlanc and co-stars Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer and Lisa Kudrow into household names, with 65.9 million viewers tuning into the series finale in 2004.

Even 15 years later, fans have been clamoring for a reunion or a revival, but series creators Marta Kaufman and David Crane insist a revival will never happen in a 2016 interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

'That show is about a time in your life when your friends are your family,' Kaufman said. 'Once you start having a family, that time of your life is over.'

'We finished the show exactly the way we wanted to finish it,' Crane said. 'To revisit those characters just seems like a bad idea — you don't want to see them hang­ing out in the coffeehouse now.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
