«Breaking News» Life-threatening wind chills as low as -50F will sweep the Midwest as polar vortex blasts in

A polar vortex is creeping into the already-freezing Midwest, expecting to blast the region with dangerously low temperatures by Tuesday.

Arctic air will be pushed into the Northern Plains and Great Lakes by Wednesday, bringing winds chills as low as -40degrees in many parts, according to the National Weather Service.

In Green Bay, where wind chill temperatures could fall as low as -50 degrees, the NWS said: 'Wind chills this low can produce frost on exposed skin within 10 minutes.'

'There's no mild way of saying it. Brutal cold is coming,' the weather service said.

By Wednesday and Thursday, cities such as Minneapolis, Green Bay Detroit and Milwuakee will see blistering cold temperatures.

However, forecasters warn that the Great Lakes holds the 'core' of the cold.

'The core of the cold will be in the Great Lakes, where numerous temperature records will be threatened,' forecasters said.

Forecasters are urging people to bundle up, as Green Bay could experience wind chills of -35 to -50degrees.

But before the polar vortex hits, a snow storm is anticipated to hit the Chicago area Monday, bringing one to three inches of snow.

'If travel is planned across the area this afternoon and evening, motorists should be prepared to encounter snow-covered roads, and slow travel conditions,' the Chicago office said.

The National Weather Service of Chicago is predicting recording breaking cold, as 'the prolonged coldest in at least 5 years, but potentially much longer'.

The cold front is moving to the upper Mississippi Valley.

Forecasters called Friday's freezing temperatures a replay of the 'polar vortex' that bludgeoned the US in 2014.

It may be even colder, with wind chills by midweek hitting 45 below in Chicago.

'We're going to be feeling it big time,' Jeff Masters, meteorology director at the private Weather Underground, said. 'It's going to be the coldest air in five years.'

The polar vortex rarely plunges as far south as the U.S., maybe every few years or more, Ryan Maue, a meteorologist with the private forecasting company weather.us. said.

The last big plunge was January 6, 2014, when Chicago’s temperature dipped to minus-16.

Meanwhile, in Wisconsin, forecasters as much as a foot of snow to fall from Sunday to Monday, with temperature lows of minus 20 degrees, which would feel like anywhere from minus 40 to minus 60 degrees with windchill, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.

Meteorologists said when the polar vortex plunges into the U.S., it will be warmer in parts of the Arctic — Greenland, northern Canada and Alaska — than in Chicago and Minneapolis.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
