«Breaking News» Happy Mondays' Bez 'in talks to join Strictly Come Dancing 2019'... after boasting he would WIN

Happy Mondays star Bez is reportedly in talks to join the 2019 Strictly Come Dancing line-up.

According to The Mirror, show bosses believe the maraca-toting musician - real name Mark Berry - will be a 'ratings hit' among this year's line-up, which is also said to include Chris Evans and Vogue Williams.

Bez, 54, will no doubt be keen to show off his skills after previously boasting that he would win the show if he appeared on it.

Back in 2016, he claimed: 'I reckon I could go all the way. Dancing has made me famous and entertaining people is what I do best.

'I've lost count of the number of blokes who've come up over the years and said, 'Thanks for making it OK for indie guys to get on the dance floor'.

MailOnline has contacted Bez's representatives and a Strictly Come Dancing spokesperson for comment.

Bez is no stranger to reality TV himself, winning Celebrity Big Brother in 2005 and appearing on the celebrity special of Bargain Hunt last year.

He was famously disqualified from the latter, however, after it emerged his girlfriend had bought all his lots.

Meanwhile, Bez's bandmate Shaun Ryder previously revealed he'd turned down the BBC One show due to his swearing habit, opting instead to appear on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! as the ITV reality show is past the watershed.

Whilst the Strictly line-up is usually shrouded in secrecy, last year Chris Evans confirmed that he would be appearing on the dancing show.

Alan Carr and Huw Edwards have also been approached by the BBC, and whilst the comedian confessed that he doesn't think he has the time this year, newsreader Huw is said to be seriously considering the offer.

Reality star Vogue Williams is also rumoured to be in the running for the show.

Last year's series was won by documentary filmmaker Stacey Dooley and her dance partner Kevin Clifton.

Reaching the final was vlogger Joe Sugg, singer Faye Tozer and dancer Ashley Roberts.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
