Children as young as 12 caught with knives could have their use of Facebook and other social media banned by the courts.
In a package of measures announced today to crack down on violent crime, Home Secretary Sajid Javid will also introduce new curfews to keep thugs off the streets.
Breaching the new Knife Crime Prevention Orders – dubbed ‘Knife Asbos’ after the anti-social behaviour order introduced by Labour in 1998 – will carry up to two years’ imprisonment.
It comes just days after latest figures revealed 110 knife crimes are committed every day in England and Wales.
Amid growing public horror over the bloody violence on the streets of ‘Wild West Britain’, knife crime soared 8 per cent in the year to September to 39,919 incidents – including 276 killings.

Nedin Bilgin, 17, has become the eighth person to be killed in London this year. He was stabbed to death on Tuesday night
Mr Javid said police will be able to ask the courts to ‘limit the social media use’ of anyone thought to be carrying a knife – even if they have never been convicted – in a bid to stop gang disputes escalating through goading videos and messages.
The courts will also be able to bar suspects from specific areas, such as town centres, while curfews could get children off the streets before or after school, or at weekends.
He added: ‘I have been clear that I will do everything in my power to tackle the senseless violence that is traumatising communities and claiming too many young lives.
'I will be introducing these new orders to stop gang members carrying knives in the first place.’
Breaching the orders would carry a maximum two-year jail term, but judges could also impose lesser punishments such as a fine or community service.
However, Sarah Jones MP, chairman of the Commons all-party parliamentary group on knife crime, claimed the new orders were ‘flawed’.
‘Imprisoning a young person – as young as 12 – for two years for breaching this order is completely disproportionate,’ she said. ‘It risks criminalising a generation of young people.’
Eight people including two teenagers have been murdered in London already this year
The social media restrictions will be individually tailored to each offender by police and the Crown Prosecution Service.
A Home Office spokesman said: ‘An example might be to stop them messaging a particular individual or it could be banning them from using social media.’
The measures will be introduced in an amendment to the Offensive Weapons Bill currently going through Parliament.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Duncan Ball, National Police Chiefs’ Council lead for knife crime, said: ‘We welcome the new powers... that will provide us with further means to deter young people from becoming involved in knife crime.
‘However, violent crime is not something that can be solved by policing alone. We are working with schools, charities and community schemes to educate young people and explain why carrying a knife is never the right choice.’

Breaching...
It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
