«Breaking News» Debbie McGee admits she's missing late husband Paul Daniels during breast cancer battle

Debbie McGee has admitted she is missing her late husband Paul Daniels more than ever amid her breast cancer diagnosis.

The Strictly star appeared on Tuesday's This Morning to talk about her health scare after discovering she is in the early stages of recovery following surgery to remove two tumours, discovered during a routine mammogram.

Debbie, 60, has been told by her doctors she does not need a mastectomy, but she admitted if she had had to have further surgery she knows Paul, who died in 2016, 'would love me whatever I looked like.'

Debbie's tumours were found during a routine mammogram and she recently had surgery to remove the two tumours, revealing she had her bandages off 11 days ago.

The star admitted during her candid interview that she has been constantly thinking of Paul during this difficult time.

'When I go through anything that makes me unhappy I always think what would he have done, but this time I missed him more because I thought if I have to have a mastectomy, I thought well if Paul was here I know whatever I looked like he would love me,' she said.

'But now I'm on my own, I really missed him because if he was alive I wouldn't have that extra worry really.'

While she admits it's been a difficult few weeks, Debbie insists she has a positive attitude toward troubled times in her life.

'I just think in the last three years I've gone through more stress than I've ever been in my life, but there have been moments.'

'I suffered from anxiety at one point because I was really worried about my future. I don't worry about anything until I've got to worry about it,' she added.

'When I went for the results my sister said "why aren't you worrying?" And I said "when I've got something to scared of, I will worry", but over the last three years there have been times when I've found it quite hard to cope.'

Debbie explained that she is speaking out on her cancer battle in order to urge other women to go for their mammograms and smear tests.

'Since I was in my 20s I've always had regular smear tests and mammograms. I've never been ill before, but this time it proved it was worth going for them for all these years, because they caught it so so early, the tissues have changed but it isn't full blown cancer yet,' she pointed out.

The TV personality was married to married to magician Paul Daniels from 1988 to his death in 2016, aged 77. He had been diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour a year before his death.

Debbie has previously spoken about her struggles after losing Paul, which hit her when she stopped busying herself with day-to-day life.

‘It didn’t come immediately after Strictly,’ she recalls. ‘I did panto afterwards — God knows how I got through that, but I did. Then I went on tour with Strictly. Then around March — a difficult month because Paul died in March, his birthday is in March, our anniversary is in March — I got home, and I just stopped.

‘I didn’t want to get out of bed. I couldn’t make a cup of tea. Part of it must have been sheer physical exhaustion, but there was more to it. I changed. My brain had changed.

'I’ve always been the most optimistic person. If I’m feeling low I can look in the mirror and say: “Come on, Debbie, let’s do this. Put on your make-up and smile.” Suddenly I couldn’t.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
