«Breaking News» David Beckham hugs Rita Ora three weeks after his son Brooklyn went on a date with her

It was recently reported that Brooklyn Beckham, 19, quietly enjoyed a secret flirtation with Rita Ora, 28, back in 2017.

And now pictures have resurfaced of the teen's famous dad David Beckham, 43, sharing a friendly hug with the singing beauty at a fashion awards bash in London in May of that year, three weeks after their low-key date took place.

In one snap, the retired football ace, who attended the glitzy event with his wife Victoria Beckham, 44, appears to be deep in conversation with the Girls singer as they rub shoulders with a host of well-heeled guests.

Wearing a backless black gown, Rita is seen leaning in to hug and then speak with the handsome former England skipper as he flashes a broad smile at her.

The resurfacing of the snap comes after it was claimed that Brooklyn was the one who 'pursued' Rita ahead of their reported flirtation.

A source has told MailOnline that Brooklyn, who had just turned 18 at the time of the alleged fling, was smitten with Rita, who at the time was 26, but she insisted they should just be friends.

The insider reveals that Brooklyn contacted the singer's friends and family to get introduced - but Rita was 'happy to be just friends and has always been polite.'

The insider said: 'Brooklyn was harassing Rita non-stop and even gone to the lengths of reaching out to her family and friends to get hold of her. She is happy to be just friends and has always been polite especially as she’s now a neighbour.' 

A spokesperson for Brooklyn denied there was any kind of pursuing.

The report follows The Sun's revelation this weekend that Victoria Beckham was reportedly concerned after discovering her son had been enjoying a brief fling Rita.

Brooklyn and Rita allegedly shared some steamy smooches before his parents banned him from seeing her again and sent him back to New York.

A source said: 'Posh saw a couple of texts they'd been sending. She didn't want her boy being led astray, and didn't want them partying together.

'David and Victoria were adamant the pair shouldn't date and made it very clear they didn't approve.'

The pair were spotted holding hands at The Electric in West London before exchanging a series of flirty text messages. 

A representative for Victoria declined to comment. MailOnline has also contacted representatives for Rita and Brooklyn for comment. 

Brooklyn and Rita also spent time together just a month later at Glastonbury festival, in close proximity to his mum and dad, who also attended the event.

Although they apparently decided not to take their relationship any further, Brooklyn and Rita are still thought to be on good terms.

Brooklyn is currently dating model Hana Cross, who is clearly deemed a much more suitable match for him by his parents as they have been spotted on several outings together. 

In recent weeks, a besotted Brooklyn has taken to Instagram to share stunning shots of Hana, as fans claimed she is the spitting image of his famous mother Victoria.

Hana is an aspiring model and is signed by three different agencies; listing Select Model Management, US agency The Lions and French agency Premium Models on her Instagram page. 

Brooklyn was last romantically linked to Alex Lee Aillon and singer Abi Manzoni — who runs a legally licensed cannabis company — in August, following his split from YouTube singer Lexy.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol.
