«Breaking News» Britney Spears enjoys a milk shake after announcing she's taking an 'indefinite work hiatus'

Britney Spears was spotted grabbing a milk shake at a Los Angeles mall on Friday.

The pop superstar wore a red and white striped sweater, black leggings, and brown leather boots as she waited in line to pay for her frozen treat.

And the outing comes just hours after the 37-year-old announced she is taking an 'indefinite hiatus' from work and putting her Las Vegas residency on hold to care for her ailing father who 'almost died' recently.

The Toxic songstress kept her trademark blonde tresses long and loose as she sipped on the milk shake with her bodyguard nearby.

Looking in sensational shape, the Louisiana native covered her youthful face with a pair of retro shades as she carried a chic pink handbag.

Meanwhile, a press release and social media post explained that her decision to put the brakes on her career was to care for her father, Jamie Spears, 66, after his 'colon spontaneously ruptured'.

'Two months ago, Mr. Jamie Spears became seriously ill and was rushed to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas. His colon spontaneously ruptured and he was immediately admitted into surgery,' the release stated.

Britney's father then spent nearly a full month in the hospital and is 'recuperating at home and gaining strength, and is expected to make a full recovery.'

The hotly anticipated Britney: Domination residency was planned to launch in February at Las Vegas' Park Theater and run through August, but it is now being placed on hold 'until further notice,' according to the release.

'I don't even know where to start with this, because this is so tough for me to say,' Britney wrote on Instagram Friday afternoon.

'I will not be performing my new show Domination. I've been looking forward to this show and seeing all of you this year, so doing this breaks my heart,' she continued.

The post was accompanied by an old image of a young Britney after a dance recital with her father and mother, Lynne Spears, 63. The couple divorced in 2002, but reconciled in 2010, according to reports.

'However, it's important to always put your family first… and that's the decision I had to make. A couple of months ago, my father was hospitalized and almost died,' the star revealed to fans in the post.

She added that she was 'so grateful' that her father survived the ailment, 'but he still has a long road ahead of him.'

The Hit Me Baby One More Time hitmaker explained on social media that she made a 'difficult decision to put my full focus and energy on my family at this time.'

The star apologized to fans and asked for their understanding. She also provided information about ticket refunds, which will be issued in full.

'I am dedicating my focus and energy to care for my family,' Britney said through a representative. 'We have a very special relationship and I want to be with my family at this time just like they have always been there for me.'

Britney's father Jamie has been in control of her money and assets since a judge placed her under a conservatorship in 2008.

Prior to the judge stepping in, Britney's behavior had become erratic for several years. In 2006, paparazzi photos surfaced showing the pop star driving with her young son on her lap.

A year later she checked herself out of a rehab facility after just one day and then infamously shaved her head at a Los Angeles salon. Britney later re-entered treatment.

Also in 2007, Britney and her mother, Lynne, were estranged for several months.

In 2008, Lynne then published a memoir, Through The Storm: A Real Story Of Fame And Family In A Tabloid World, in which she revealed that Britney had started drinking at 13, lost her virginity at 14 and started taking drugs at 15.

The book was released the same year that Spears was hospitalized and placed on a 5150 hold after she refused to release her two sons to their father, ex Kevin Federline.

The Toxic singer's conservatorship, which is still in effect today, is overseen by her father and lawyer Andrew M. Wallet.

Jamie, it's said is so actively involved in his daughter's monetary affairs that he was said to have asked to see ex-son-in-law Federline's tax returns after he requested a $20,000-a-month increase in monthly child support, E! Online reported in March 2018.

After Federline refused Jamie's original offer of $10,000 more, Britney and Federline were said to have struck a deal in September 2018, in which she pays him thousands of dollars more in child support, above the $20,000 that he was already getting from her, The Blast reported. It's unclear exactly how much more Federline was given, as agreement is confidential.

The New York Times reported in 2016 that Britney was paying her father $130,000 a year to manage her finances and other affairs and that every purchase she makes is kept track of in court documents in an effort to keep her fortune in tact.

Britney's net worth is currently estimated to be about $215million, according to an October estimate from Celebrity Net Worth. This does not include any money she might've made from the Britney: Domination residency, however.

That now-canceled residency was previously marked a major milestone in her career.

The star was slated to make a little over a half-million dollars per show - a record in the industry.

The Grammy winner was also reportedly working on her 10th studio album.

The exact amount can not say because there are many nuances. It will be necessary to build a small laboratory with certain parameters. It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
