Cyclist Geraint Thomas has been tipped for a knighthood in the New Year's Honours list after winning the Tour de France last summer.
The Welshman rode to glory in the 2,000-mile race in July, becoming the third British rider to win cycling's biggest event.
Last week he was voted the BBC Sports Personality of the Year, beating Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton and World Cup hero Harry Kane.
The 32-year-old is likely to be honoured with his efforts when the gongs are announced at the turn of the year, the Sunday People reported.

A source told the newspaper: 'Geraint has achieved what no Welshman has achieved before and a knighthood is the right way to honour him.'
Thomas is also a two-time Olympic champion on the track, winning team pursuit gold at the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Olympics.
He was an integral team-mate of Chris Froome as he won the 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017 Tours.
At this year's event he did not start the race as either a favourite or the leader of his own team.
Though he had led Froome by more than a minute and a half after his victory on stage 12 to Alpe d'Huez, Thomas revealed he was only fully handed the leadership of the team after the four-time winner faltered on stage 17.
Julie Harrington, Chief Executive Officer for British Cycling said after his BBC award: 'What Geraint has achieved this year completely encapsulates what we are about – using success to inspire people to get out on their bikes.
'I'd like to offer my congratulations to Geraint on a brilliant year and thank him for his part in encouraging more people to cycle.'
In October his Tour de France trophy was stolen after being displayed at the Cycle Show in Birmingham
There have also been calls for England football manager Gareth Southgate to receive a knighthood in the honours list.
Southgate was the first manager since Bobby Robson in 1990 to lead the Three Lions to the last four of the World Cup.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
