A video has surfaced showing two New Hampshire students singing a racially charged version of Jingle Bells containing lyrics about the Ku Klux Klan.
The cellphone video surfaced over the weekend showing the students singing the song in history class at Dover High School, according to Fosters Daily Democrat.
The video shows the 11th grade high school students singing, 'KKK, KKK, Let's kill all the blacks,' to the tune of 'Jingle Bells.'
In the minute or so long video, the students sing the song to the class and elicit laughs.
School administrators in Dover, New Hampshire, say they are investigating the incident.
Superintendent William Harbron said in a letter to the school community Monday the incident was part of an assignment dealing with the Reconstruction period in American history, but said, 'the impact was harmful.'
The students did not know they were being recorded, Harbron said.
The class had been given the task of selecting a history event and creating a jingle for it. Two students selected the Ku Klux Klan, Harbron added.
They were recorded by classmate Chloe Harris.
“I went to the teacher,” she said. “I said I’m not really comfortable with these lyrics. I don’t know why they need to sing it. I don’t know why they need to present it in such an insensitive way.”
“Thought if I don’t record this, this is going to be the only evidence that I have that this happened,” said the 16-year-old, who spoke to NBC10 Boston.

Harbron and Dover High School Principal Peter Driscoll said Monday they didn't believe the students had any malicious intent and were addressing the assignment as given to them.
Harbron said with the benefit of hindsight, the educator could have stopped the song in the vetting process, or stopped it when the students were singing it and talked about why it was not appropriate.
Whether the assignment was appropriate and whether the students’ work was vetted along the way will be part of a review process, school officials said.
A decision whether to discipline the students is yet to be made but the History teacher is 'suspended,' according to NBC10 Boston.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
