«Breaking News» Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas SLAMMED by PETA for 'participating in animal abuse' in wedding ritual

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have rankled PETA officials after using animals as part of their elaborate wedding, as images of animals decked out in ceremonial garb for the occasion were posted on social media, leading to push-back from animal rights activists.

Chopra, 36, and Jonas, 26, exchanged vows in a pair of ceremonies - a Christian service on Saturday, and a Hindu celebration on Sunday - with both taking place at Jodhpur, Rajasthan's Umaid Bhawan Palace.

Among the animal-involved portions of the wedding celebration included shots of a white horse that was draped with red and golden embellishments, which Jonas would ride into the ceremony.

Also seen on the premises of the nuptials was a white elephant that was saddled for two riders.

PETA India CEO Manilal Valliyate said in a statement released Monday that 'Priyanka was ill-served by not being advised of the firestorm that would be caused by participating in animal abuse.' 

Valliyate added, 'It doesn't make a person look big or glamorous to promote cruelty to animals who have no choice but to serve.'

Valliyate said that the use of animals made the celebrity newlyweds 'look small,' as they tied the knot following a whirlwind four-month courtship.

India's PETA chapter also took to social media to scold the couple for incorporating animals in their ceremony.

'Dear @priyankachopra and @nickjonas. [Elephants for] weddings live [in] chains & horses [are] controlled [with] whips [and] spiked bits ... congrats, but we regret it was not a happy day for animals,' the organization said. 

The chapter said people are passing on elephant rides and going without horses for their weddings, posting a YouTube clip depicting their 2014 inspection of captive elephants that revealed abhorrent conditions.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
