Paloma Faith has admitted parenthood has put a strain on her previously 'impenetrable' relationship with long-term partner Leyman Lahcine.

The singer, 37, said although the French artist, 31, is 'definitely the love of my life', she has found raising the couple's two-year-old child 'quite hard' to the extent that she sometimes 'hates' her boyfriend.

The Picking Up The Pieces hitmaker engaged in a candid discussion about the challenging aspects of parenting as she appeared on ITV's Lorraine on Friday morning.

Paloma explained: 'It’s quite scary that bit, I found it quite hard. I definitely had a baby with the love of my life.

'I just felt like we were impenetrable and infallible and then you have this child and then you’re like, "Oh my god, I’m having feelings about this man that I never thought I’d have like, I hate you".'

In spite of her intense feelings, the musician admitted working through their problems has made the couple stronger.

She added: 'You can’t just do what you’d have done in your youth, which is like, "Oh go away I’m going to end it".

'You have to stay there. You work though it and somehow you come out of the other side and you’re like, "I love you more than I’ve ever loved you because of it". It's quite challenging and I think it’s sad people don’t talk about that.

'Or that they think that if you say you struggle with parenthood or you struggle with your relationship that you don’t love either of those people like your child or your partner – that’s not true. It’s much more complicated than that.'

Paloma and Leyman have been together since 2013 and she announced she was pregnant via social media in August 2016, before welcoming their first child that December.

The notoriously private pair have never publicly revealed their baby's name or sex, and have said they will raise their child gender neutral.

It's not just Paloma's relationship with her partner that has changed after the birth of their child.

Promoting her new album The Architect, she told Lorraine: 'I found my mum was quite, not critical, but she was constantly acting like I was completely incapable of doing it. That was quite difficult to deal with.

'A lot of teenagers are relating to this song as well as they’re leaving home and they’re saying, "Mum can you just stop bullying me!" And you’ve got to.

'I remember when I left home and the first time I got ill I didn’t know how to deal with it and I was in A&E and all I had was a bit of conjunctivitis.'

The singer was previously wed for less than a year to taxidermist Rian Haynes, following a 2005 ceremony at Hackney Town Hall in East London.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
