«Breaking News» New BBC Sounds app allowing users to listen to the radio is slammed

The new BBC Sounds online service allowing users to listen to the radio and download shows has been slammed despite a £10 million marketing campaign.

Listeners have flooded social media with complaints about the online service and app for tablets and mobile phones – with many saying it is worse than the iPlayer Radio that it will replace early next year.

One listener wrote: 'I've just deleted the BBC Sounds app. Didn't work. Wouldn't play any downloads. Difficult to navigate and gave less info.'

BBC Sounds, available via an app since June and online since October, brings 18 national and 40 local radio stations together.

The BBC has reportedly spent £3 million on a glitzy publicity campaign, including an advert with Kylie Minogue. 

It plans to spend another £7 million next year.

A BBC spokesman said: 'BBC Sounds is already superior to the iPlayer Radio app.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
