«Breaking News» Luther star Ruth Wilson joins handsome leading man Idris Elba at photocall for show's fifth series

She plays sociopathic serial killer with a temptress edge Alice Morgan in global phenomenon Luther.

And Ruth Wilson was every inch the superstar as she joined leading man Idris Elba at a photocall for the show's upcoming fifth series at London's Courthouse Hotel on Tuesday.

The Affair actress, 36, dazzled in a plunging hot pink gown with statement shoulderpads as she cosied up to John Luther actor Idris, 46 at the star-studded photocall.

The stunning gown showcased the star's braless decolletage and cinched in at her slender waist with a bejewelled belt.

It then flared out into a figure-hugging skirt with a ruffled hem.

The LAMDA graduate, who picked up a Golden Globe in 2014, boosted her height with tan sandals and accessorised with one pearl earring.

Her auburn tresses were pulled back into a high bun while her pretty features were enhanced with feline flicks of liner and a berry lipstick.

Fellow acclaimed actor Idris traded in the overcoat worn by his DCI alter-ego and donned a Reese Cooper Lone Pine Sweater paired with baggy tan chinos and khaki green trainers.

He added a stylish twist with a red beanie and sported a handsome smattering of stubble.

The Golden Globe winner looked delighted as he wrapped an arm around his co-star just weeks before the premiere of the long-awaited fifth series of Luther.

Plans for a fifth instalment were announced 18 months ago, and filming began earlier this year.

The news of Luther's return will no doubt come as a welcome relief to fans of the thriller series, who said the 2015 two episode special wasn't enough for them and begged for more.

Idris' portrayal of the rough and ready, emotionally impulsive cop who breaks all the rules to get his man, has seen him scoop a Golden Globe and SAG award for the role.

After battling a cannibal serial killer in the last series - which aired in December 2015 - Luther was last seen walking through his London stomping ground and into an uncertain future in the multi-award winning series.

Many questions were left unanswered including what really happened to Alice Morgan - although the new trailer suggests this may well be explained.

With John having to deal with the murders of his ex-wife Zoe and partner DS Justin Ripley along with the apparent loss of Alice it is unclear what fresh emotional torment the obsessive DCI will have to endure next.

In a press release, BBC recently confirmed that the three year wait for new episodes is finally over, with the show making a comeback within the next few weeks.

'DCI John Luther is once more called to immerse himself in the deepest depths of human depravity in a new four-part series written by Neil Cross. Wunmi Mosaku joins as new recruit D.S. Catherine Halliday,' the release reveals.

While his character is known for his fierce persona, Idris drew parallels between himself and the detective.

When asked whether anger has been an issue for him within his life, the hunk insisted: 'No, not really. Everyone’s got a temper, though.'

The star - who is known for his grey longline coat on the show - credited his outerwear for giving him the 'signature Luther walk'.

'It’s what the coat makes me do, I think... There’s lots of walking in Luther and it just seems that he gets to where he needs to get to very quickly.

Back together: Lifting the lid on the latest series, he shared: 'Alice is back after she was left dead OK...We are upping the stakes for John Luther this series. Alice is back and there’s unfinished business.

'His father was in the Army and there’s a sort of march; it’s not in the storyline but it’s in his DNA', he reasoned.

The Mandela actor admitted he's been left 'disturbed' at his character's storyline at times, due to the series' vicious murders and twisted plot.

'There are lots of really horrible ways to murder in Luther. Typically, the viewer comes with John whenever he walks into a murder scene.

'The audience sees what John sees. What that means is that I see what the murder rooms are like.

'If someone has had their throats slit, there’ll be lots of blood and a knife. As much as it’s make-believe, the make-up is designed to look realistic and for me, I take that stuff home', he confessed.

Idris also confirmed the return of psychopath love interest Alice Morgan, who was believed to have died in the fourth series.

Lifting the lid on the latest series, he shared: 'Alice is back after she was left dead OK...We are upping the stakes for John Luther this series. Alice is back and there’s unfinished business.'

Writer of the beloved crime drama Neil Cross revealed that Luther's unfinished business sealed the deal for him to bring the compulsive cop back.

In statement, he said: 'Now what? It’s a question Idris and I get asked a lot. What happened to John Luther after we last saw him striding unbowed through the streets of his city, his blood red London? It can’t be over, can it? There’s so much we don’t know. So much unfinished business.

'The thing is, we’ve been asking ourselves the same question. Because we love John and wonder what he’s up to. And as for me, I’m scared of the monsters.

'The face at the window. The hand under the bed. The shadow at the end of the street. Who’s going to stop them, if not John Luther?'

The ...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
