«Breaking News» Prue Leith chats to Loose Women about her 'toyboy' husband and how she feels about sex in her 70s

Prue Leith visited the Loose Women panel on Tuesday and discussed raising the temperature away from the kitchen.

The Great British Bake Off judge, 78, married her 'toyboy' husband John Playfair, 71, two years ago and admitted the age gap is the subject of many comments.

The mother-of two spoke candidly about her private life while discussing the recent finding that millennials are having less sex.

She was asked by Saira Khan about the recent finding, and replied with a giggle, ‘Try it, it’s quite nice.’

Discussing the eight-year age gap with her husband John, the TV star joked 'people call him my toyboy', but added 'he is amazing'.

She went on to credit her husband for inspiring her, saying, 'He is great and one of the reasons I'm back to this cooking business is that I've got someone to cook for every night'.

Prue revealed her husband originally wooed her with one of her favourite foods, haggis.

The couple have been going strong since meeting at a friend's house following the death of her first husband Rayne Kruger in 2002.

The Great British Bake Off judge, 78, joined Janet Street-Porter, Ruth Langsford and Saira Khan on the ITV chat show to promote her new cookery book, Prue.

Despite being a hit on the Channel 4 cooking show the chef revealed that she gets more questions about her outfits than food.

She said: 'I get more questions about my necklaces and specs than I do about food'.

And she didn't let fans down, donning a multi-coloured necklace with chunky beads and matching earrings and bracelet for the daytime television appearance.

She also admitted that she found herself stealing recipes from the show's contestants and fellow judge Paul Hollywood

Prue explained: 'I kept finding I was pinching the bakers recipes and I was always doing what cookery writers always do, which is stacking up bits of paper.

'When I realised I had the stack of stuff, and was even nicking recipes from Paul Hollywood I thought I better write the book.

'It has less of a theme than most books, and because I hadn't written anything for 25 years I wanted to include stuff I'd liked all my life. There are wonderful old recipes, but most of it is very modern.'

Prue started her career at the Cordon Bleu Cookery School in 1960 and went on to open her Michelin starred restaurant Leith's nine years later.

After becoming a food columnist she turned her talents to writing cookery books and was a successful novelist.

Prue is mother to son, Danny and adopted daughter, Li-Da with husband Rayne Kruger who died in 2002.

The mother-of...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
