A commercial passenger jet bound for Tampa, Florida returned safely to Las Vegas with terrifying engine cover damage incurred just minutes after takeoff.
No injuries were reported after Frontier Airlines flight 260 landed at 7.26am Friday with 166 passengers and crew members aboard but according to some one on board, people believed they were going to die in the incident.
One passenger described how a man noticed something was wrong and was screaming to alert cabin crew but the plane had already taken off by the time staff could do anything about it.

'As the plane started to accelerate, to take off, there were engine pieces flying and the engine had caught a slight fire ... One man started yelling and then everyone was yelling for assistance and pressing the buttons for [the crew] to stop the plane but we had already started taking off,' Jazmin Pedraza told ABC News.
'Once we got the attention of the flight attendants, she came and looked out of our windows to see what was going on and then went to call the pilot and got the passengers under control.
'Everyone started making phone calls to their loved ones and crying and panicking then they announced we will be doing an emergency landing and we stayed in the air for about 10 to 15 minutes until we were able to safely land the plane.'

Crews says the pilot of the Airbus 320 reported an engine 'concern' before circling back to the airport 15 minutes after takeoff.
Airline spokeswoman Allison Redmon says an engine cover cowling came loose and separated from the aircraft.
McCarran International Airport spokeswoman Christine Crews says emergency crews found debris on the runway while the aircraft taxied to a gate under its own power.

'Our pilots followed procedure and immediately returned to the airport. The engine continued to operate normally and the aircraft, an Airbus 320, landed safely,' Frontier said in a statement.
'Safety is our top priority at Frontier Airlines and we would like to acknowledge the professionalism of our pilots and flight attendants. We are working to get our passengers to their destinations as quickly as possible.'
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
A spokesperson says passengers were given refunds and were being re-booked on other airlines.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
