It's been a nostalgic week for Marla Maples, who paid tribute to her late mother Ann with a series of throwback photos on the five-year anniversary of her death.
The 55-year-old took to Instagram on Thursday to post a photo of herself posing with her mother at the Miss Georgia USA pageant in 1984. Marla, who was named first runner-up that night, credited her mom for showing her how to be a beauty queen.
'I was much more comfortable on the basketball court in @converse high tops but mom surely knew how to help me bring on the glamour,' Marla captioned the image, which was taken backstage at the event.

In the photo, Marla is sporting a feathered hairdo and a white halter dress with a sequin bodice while holding on to her trophy.
Her mother is posed alongside her in a pretty dress that cinches her waist. Like Marla, the brunette has a feathered 'do, and she accessorized her look with layered gold necklaces.

A few hours before she shared the 'Throwback Thursday' post, Marla posted a collage of photos featuring her late mother, revealing it's been five years since she died of cancer.
The images include a picture of Ann when she was homecoming queen and a snapshot of her playing with Marla's daughter Tiffany Trump, who appears to be about three at the time.

'Yes, this week has been powerful and painful and healing and joyful and full of deep introspection... Life,' Marla wrote.
'This evening 5 yrs ago at 9:22pt our precious mom-mom, the forever beautiful & glamorous Momma Ann rose up to her heavenly place. This was so clear as I held her and held onto every moment, watching her elevating and looking up as she took her last breath, with a peaceful & blissful smile on her face. [sic]'
Marla went on to say that she was 'so blessed' to have a mother who loved her and Tiffany 'more than anything' in the world, noting that she was 'so beautiful.'
One photo featured in the collage shows Ann standing outside of the Palace Theatre in New York City in front of pictures of Marla in the Broadway musical The Will Rogers Follies.
Marla noted that her mom must have seen her perform a hundred times, but Ann was 'the best dancer of all.'

'Mom gave her heart and soul to her family and today I can feel her loving and yes still feisty spirit with me,' she wrote.
'Cancer may have taken her body way too soon for us who miss her so, but her spirit was never broken... Moms’ faith remained so strong as she trusted every step of her journey, yet her courage and commitment to her healing never ended [sic].'
At the end of her post, the actress explained that there is more she would like to share, but it was already her 'longest post ever.'
'So for now thank you for listening as I shared my heart,' she added. 'May moms’ faith help inspire any of you going through challenges to love more, trust in your own Divinity and see beyond any limitations that this life or world may offer. And remember #YouAreABlessing [sic].'

'Today would have been 100 for my precious grandfather aka #dingdaddy and my goodness did he come so close!' she wrote on Sunday. 'He lived to be 99 1/2 yrs young.'
Marla shared numerous photos of her grandfather, including pictures of him at with Tiffany when she was a toddler and more recently, before he passed away.
'Dingdaddy could fill a room with silly laughter and make everyone feel loved!' she said. 'He truly taught by example the importance of having fun despite what challenges may come as he had such a trust in God.
'We would fall asleep at night listening to him pray for so many people he loved and cared about, the list was endless. Dingdaddy appreciated the gift of life more than anyone I’ve known and he will inspire me forever.'
The last photo shows Marla's mother and grandparents posing together, and she noted that she is sure they 'are having the most joyful #heavenlycelebration together.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
