«Breaking News» TOWIE's James Lock and Yazmin Oukhellou are latest victims of cull

TOWIE's James Lock and Yazmin Oukhellou have been downgraded to secondary characters on the ITVBe show as producers have executed a huge cull.

Insiders tell MailOnline, the couple are stepping back from the show following their personal dramas which were detailed in the last series.

Aside from the couple's switch to becoming minor characters, The Only Way Is Essex bosses have also axed eight stars in the show's biggest ever cull, and are now on the hunt for a new bevvy of Essex-based cast members.

A source revealed: 'Lockie and Yaz’s turbulent relationship has been well documented and since taking a break at the end of last series they have been working hard on themselves and their relationship...

'They mutually agree with producers that taking an extended break and a back seat is best for them and the show at this time but as two of the show’s most popular characters we’re sure they’ll be back onscreen soon.'

Meanwhile the duo have been spending their time in Marrakech launching a new health and fitness venture - adding to their diminished role on the show.

Friends of the couple added: 'They are currently in and out of Marrakech building a health, fitness and well-being business and while working hard to build their brand that they’re both very passionate about, they are also on a health and fitness drive and taking the time to work on their relationship.'

MailOnline has contacted representatives for TOWIE, James and Yazmin for comment.

The TOWIE cast is renowned for their glamorous ways, and at the National Television Awards they showcased their best outfits yet, including Yazmin Oukhellou.

The reality star stunned in a navy dress by Red Carpet Ready, which flawlessly drapes her figure. Also, we love how she has completed the look with a faux fur shawl to keep the cold at bay.

The satin gown is designed with a wrap over bodice that is gathered at the side to flatter the body, whilst the thigh split adds a hint of sexiness. It’s the perfect party piece and if you want to copy Yazmin then click (right) to steal her style.

Alternatively, treat yourself to our favourite dress by Alice + Olivia, which will give Yazmin some competition, or opt for the must-have ‘Ivy’ dress by Ghost.

Yazmin's brother Adam, Chris Clark, Dean Ralph and Jordan Wright have all been given the boot, whilst Chloe Lewis and Jon Clark both 'mutually agreed' with producers that they wouldn't return for the next series of the show.

An ITVBe spokesperson confirmed to MailOnline that stars have been cut from TOWIE, including Myles Barnett and his girlfriend and former Love Island star Kady McDermott - who has only appeared in the reality show for one series.

Taking to Instagram after the news was announced, Chloe, Myles and Kady broke their silence on Thursday evening amid ongoing reports.

In a heartfelt statement, Chloe said: 'After a long four years on The Only Way Is Essex, I'm happy to announce I have decided to leave the show. My life isn't in it anymore and I feel as if it's the right time for me to move on to other things...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
