When it comes to dressing for the Oscars, it's simply impossible to overdo it.
But with the $30million 128.54 carat Tiffany diamond hanging around her neck, Lady Gaga had all the sparkle she needed. The A Star Is Born Best Actress nominee teamed the dazzling yellow jewel, famously worn by Audrey Hepburn in her promotional shots for Breakfast At Tiffany's, with a sculptural black gown by Alexander McQueen.
Joining her on the crowded red carpet were Jennifer Lopez and Brie Larson, who glittered in metallic sparkling silver dresses for Sunday's annual awards show at the Dolby Theater at Hollywood & Highland in Hollywood.
Lady Gaga was an absolute vision in the black ball gown with a flared hip detail, adding matching gloves; the 32-year-old songstress wore the iconic, cushion-cut brilliant Tiffany diamond that Audrey had worn for a publicity photo shoot for the jewelry company.
The incredible jewel had 16 cushion-cut diamonds of over 80 total carats and 46 round brilliant diamond of over 15 total carats.
It might be the gold standard of award shows, but with falling viewing figures, The Academy Of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences have made some major changes for this year's Oscars ceremony.
These range from skipping a host - after Kevin Hart stepped down - to recruiting 'highly recognized talent from various walks of life' to present the eight nominees for Best Picture, a role usually reserved for actors.

Silver stunner: Brie Larson flashed her toned legs in a silver gown with matching heels
The final three presenters, Barbra Streisand, Diego Luna and Mike Meyers, will almost certainly be introducing the to films with which they have close ties: A Star is Born, Roma and Bohemian Rhapsody.
This new line-up of presenters is the latest in a long list of changes made by the Academy this year - many of which have surprised
It began with the announcement that the Best Song nominees would not be featured in the telecast, a decision that was changed following public uproar.
A vision: Emilia, who stars on Game Of Thrones, wore a large diamond bracelet with a matching ring and earrings
Couple love: Jason Momoa and wife actress Lisa Bonet coordinated
Glamorous: Yalitza Aparicio (L) and Laura Harrier (R) chose pastel colored frocks with silver embellishments
Next was the decision to discontinue the trend of having the actors who won in each category last year present at the ceremony.
That was revealed by Allison Janney, whose appearance presenting alongside Sam Rockwell at the Golden Globes last month proved to be one of the rare highlights of the unremarkable telecast.
Uproar ensured, and the Academy soon announced that the tradition would continue.
Next, the Academy opted to eliminate four categories from the telecast - Cinematography, Film Editing, Live Action Short, and Makeup and Hairstyling - and present those awards during the commercial break.
Stunner: Ashley grinned ear to ear as she hit the carpet on Sunday afternoon
Fancy: Melissa McCarthy looked incredible in her black and white jumpsuit with a cape detail
Sleek: Regina King flashed her toned leg in a strapless white gown with a train, adding coordinating pumps
Shimmering star: Michelle Yeoh donned a beautiful silver, gold and cream off-the-shoulder gown with drop earrings
Perfection: Glenn Close stood out in her gold long-sleeved gown with a cape detail
Incredible: Crazy Rich Asians star Constance Wu looked amazing in her bright yellow frock with crimson lipstick; the actress is wearing custom Versace
Stunning: Amandla Stenberg chose a silver and nude fringed gown with pink polish and diamond and gold jewerly
Elegant: Octavia Spencer (L) glittered in a dark blue off-the-shoulder gown with wavy tresses while Tina Fey (R) wore a pleated navy number
Look: Blanca Blanco appeared to have a minor mishap when she tripped on the steps
That managed to draw the ire of many members of the Academy, and was protested in an open letter signed by the likes of Glenn Close, Robert DeNiro, Kerry Washington, Brad Pitt, Halle Berry and hundreds more.
It is unclear what other surprises producers may have up their sleeves with just a few days left between now and the 91st Academy Awards ceremony, which will air on ABC this Sunday.
Elsie Fisher, Danai Gurira, Brian Tyree Henry, Michael B. Jordan, Michael Keaton, Helen Mirren, John Mulaney, Tyler Perry, Pharrell Williams, Krysten Ritter, Paul Rudd and Michelle Yeoh are among those who were previously announced as presenters for the big night.
Date night: Sam Rockwell arrived with his partner, actress Leslie Bibb; she looked amazing in a gold form-fitting number
Glittering: Marie Kondo, who penned the best-selling book The Life-Changing Magic Of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering And Organizing
Lovely: Meagan Goode arrived with her husband DeVon Franklin; they tied the knot in 2012
In bloom: Maya Rudolph donned a floral patterned hot pink gown with colorful earrings
A statement: Kacey Musgraves (L) and Linda Cardellini (R) chose eye-catching layered dresses
Star power: Gemma Chan (L) decided to rock a bold neon pink gown with ruching and a statement neckline from Valentino's Spring 219 Haute Couture collection; Angela Bassett (R) wowed in a neon look with cascading long tresses pulled back into a chic ponytail
Goddess: Dame Helen Mirren, 73, slipped on an orange and hot pink layered frock with three-quarter length sleeves

They are pals: Trudie Styler (R) looked slender in white as she posed with Jaime Ray Newman, who donned a black lace look
A black and red situation: Danielle McDonald stunned in a fancy red gown that no one could miss. Elsie Fisher had on a three-piece black suit with black boots and a boxy purse
Also on hand will be Javier Bardem, Angela Bassett, Chadwick Boseman, Emilia Clarke, Laura Dern, Samuel L. Jackson, Stephan James, Keegan-Michael Key, KiKi Layne, James McAvoy, Melissa McCarthy, Jason Momoa and Sarah Paulson.
Awkwafina, Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Tina Fey, Allison Janney, Brie Larson, Jennifer Lopez, Frances McDormand, Gary Oldman, Amy Poehler, Sam Rockwell, Maya Rudolph, Charlize Theron, Tessa Thompson and Constance Wu are also set to attend.
One of the first stars to hit the red carpet was Kristin Cavallari, the former cast member of TV's The Hills turned Uncommon James jewelry designer.
The beauty looked elegant in a black dress by Burnett New York as she was hosting for E!'s Live From The Red Carpet.
She turned heads in a long, ballroom gown in bright yellow and white which looked like a modern version of something Belle from Beauty And The Beast would wear.
The star let her highlighted hair flow down over her chest as she posed away.
Renee Bargh had on a long gown with tulle over satin that looked like it was made for her.
The neckline was plunging with gathered tulle around the neck. Her dress was so long her shoes could not be seen.
The star added diamond rings and had a deep purple manicure.
Purple passion: Shangela Laquifa Wadley, born Darius Jeremy Pierce and often mononymously addressed as Shangela, wore a lovely lilac colored gown that had a bit of a train and tiers
Producers Donna Gigliotti and Glenn Weiss have pledged that the show will be speedier this year , even though its initial goal of a three-hour broadcast has faded. Kicking things off will be a performance by Queen, featuring Adam Lambert, to celebrate the best picture-nominee Bohemian Rhapsody.
In the academy’s favor is a popular crop of nominees: Bohemian Rhapsody, A Star Is Born and, most of all, Black Panther have all amassed huge sums in ticket sales. Typically, when there are box-office hits (like Titanic), more people watch the Oscars.
But just how many people have seen one of the top nominees and the film favored to win best picture — Alfonso Cuaron’s Roma — remains unknown. Netflix has declined to give box-office results or steaming viewership. It remains a nominee unlike any other. Should Roma — a black-and-white, Spanish and Mixtec language film about a domestic worker in a Mexican family — win, it will be both the first Netflix movie to win best picture and the first foreign language film to do so.
Handsome: Nicholas Hoult (L) and Joe Alwyn (R) looked dapper in their suits
Bright idea: Also on the carpet was Maria Menounos, who is working for ABC's pre show
Awards show: Renee Bargh had on a long gown with tulle over satin that looked like it was made for her. Laura Marano, right, wore yellow and pink dress with a candy apple green clutch purse
A polished loo for this vet: Giuliana Rancic had on a black gown with a sheer lace halter top and a ballgown skirt with pointy heels. Her hair was secured by a black headband and she had on long pearl drop earrings
Classic look: The 91st Academy Awards will take place on Sunday at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood. And one of the first stars to hit the red carpet was Kristin Cavallari, the former cast member of TV's The Hills turned Uncommon James jewelry designer
He sure is a busy man these days: Ryan Seacrest, who produces Keeping Up With The Kardashians, is on the red carpet for both E! and ABC. He wore a black and maroon jacket with black slacks and patent leather dress shoes

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
