«Breaking News» Willow Smith says Will Smith was 'so harsh' during her early fame and took two years to forgive him

She is the 18-year old daughter of a Hollywood power couple --Will Smith and Jada Pinkett smith.

And on Monday's episode of Red Table Talk, dubbed Learning To Forgive, Willow Smith got real when her mother asked her who she needed to forgive.  

'I definitely had to forgive you and daddy for that whole Whip My Hair thing,' she confessed, which was a reference to her hit song when she was 10-years old.

Confession: Willow got more specific about her need to forgive: 'It was mostly daddy because he was so harsh at certain times,' she said, referencing the handling of her music career at 10

Sitting around the red roundtable, which also included her grandmother, Adrienne Banfield Norris, and her uncle, Caleeb Pinkett, Willow got more specific.        

'It was mostly daddy because he was so harsh at certain times,' she added as her family listened intently.  

'It was like a couple years, trying to regain trust for trying for not feeling like I wasn't listened to or no one cared what I felt during that time.'

This wasn't the first time Willow brought up the heavy subject. 

In a previous episode of Red Table Talk, she confessed to her mother that her seemingly overnight success wasn't handled well.

'You and daddy should have been, ok, we value her musical growth and knowledge more than her popularity,' she revealed at the time, and then explained how she later rebelled by shaving her head. 

Delving deeper into her emotions, the young singer admitted she also had to forgive herself in Monday's new episode.

'Because I felt guilty because I was like, everyone is trying to make me better, trying to make my dream, but I didn't really understand what my dream entailed.' 

Willow's grandmother added : 'When you learn to treat yourself better, you treat others better'

Taking a cue from her wise words, her grandmother chimed in: 'That is one of the hardest thing to do, is to forgive yourself. But when you forgive yourself, and when you learn to treat yourself better, you treat others better.' 

Agreeing with both statements, a smiling Jada added: 'You teach others with kindness.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
