«Breaking News» Turkey says Trump will visit Erdogan following promise to eradicate the rest of ISIS in Syria

A spokesman for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Monday that President Donald Trump has accepted an invitation to visit the country that straddles Asia and Europe.

The spokesman, Ibrahim Kalin, told reporters after a Cabinet meeting that Trump wants to make the trip in 2019 but a date hasn't been set.

Kalin says Erdogan extended the invitation during a weekend phone call between the two presidents on the withdrawal of American troops from Syria.

Erdogan visited the White House in May 2017.

Trump tweeted on Sunday that he had a 'long and productive' call with his counterpart from Turkey in which they discussed 'the slow & highly coordinated' pullout of U.S. military personnel.

Trump's surprise decision to withdraw troops from Syria was also announced last week after a call with Erdogan.

Kalin also said that American military officials will come to Turkey to meet with their Turkish counterparts and discuss coordination on Syria.

U.S. troops are preparing for withdrawal following Washington's surprise decision to pull out of Syria, where it has backed the Syrian Kurdish YPG forces against ISIS.

Kalin said there will be no step back or slowdown in the fight against the Islamic State, and that Turkey will work closely with Russia in Syria, where Vladimir Putin backs Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Turkish-backed Syrian fighters are also preparing to deploy in eastern Syria alongside Turkish troops once American forces withdraw. Those soldiers have already begun massing on the front line of a town held by Kurds.

A Syrian Kurdish official said her group is reaching out for help to protect the Kurdish-administered areas against a possible Turkish offensive after Americans are no longer in the region.

'We will deal with whoever can protect the good and stability of this country,' said Ilham Ahmed, a senior Kurdish official.

Ahmed said her group is discussing with the Russians, the Syrian government and European countries ways to deal with the U.S. withdrawal. She didn't elaborate.

Trump has said the withdrawal from Syria will be slow and coordinated with Turkey, but hasn't provided a timetable. Turkey says the two countries are coordinating to ensure there is no 'authority vacuum' once the U.S. troops leave.

The U.S. president stunned his Cabinet, lawmakers and much of the world by rejecting the advice of his top aides and agreeing to a withdrawal in a phone call with Erdogan on Dec. 14.

The call prompted the resignation of widely respected Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and set off a frantic, four-day scramble to convince Trump to either reverse or delay the decision.

American troops have been in Syria to fight ISIS since 2015. Despite losing their physical caliphate, thousands of the terror army's fighters remain in Iraq and Syria, and the group continues to carry out insurgent attacks.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
