«Breaking News» Three mates stuck in their broken-down $700 van in the remote Outback turn to the internet for help

Three mates who were left stranded in a tiny Outback community after their van hit a kangaroo and broke down turned to the internet in search of help.

The three travellers were around twelve hours away from their destination of Perth on Friday night when the $700 vehicle struck the animal - breaking the van's radiator.

Stuck at a roadhouse in Cocklebiddy, which has a population of just 19, the trio posted a message on social media asking for a lift and promised to return the favour.

'We hit a roo and are stranded. This photo was taken before the incident as you can tell from our jovial manner,' the Reddit post read alongside a picture of the friends in the van.

'We are willing to repay with cold hard cash. Please send help,' they added.

While other users of the forum-based website said they didn't live close enough to lend the unfortunate mates a lift, they eagerly gave suggestions to help them on their way.

One user suggested trying another subreddit to find long haul truck drivers who might be making the same journey.

A concerned commenter added police might be able to help them, while another told them to try and find a way to the airport in Esperance.

'Make a Tinder profile and you'll probably have some luck,' another user added jokingly, but the group responded by saying the nearest match was 160km away.

The group posted a stream of well-humoured updates on their ill-fated journey during the day on Saturday to keep other Reddit users in the loop.

At around midday, the three friends said they were 'having a few beers' and 'loving life'.

The last update issued by the group told followers they had decided to stay the night in Cocklebiddy on Sunday night and wait until they could make their van roadworthy.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted the group to find out how their journey has progressed.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
