«Breaking News» Sheridan Smith admits her mum 'went berserk' after she got her first tattoo

Sheridan Smith has admitted that her mum 'went beserk' when she had her first tattoo.

The 37-year-old actress told The Radio Times she left her mum furious when she returned home sporting her first inking, admitting it was in a time when she thought she was done with acting.

It comes as Sheridan also revealed she's had to put plans to settle down and have children with fiancé James Horn on hold, admitting that while they're happier than ever she wants to focus on her acting work in 2019.

Speaking about her mum's hilarious reaction to the tattoo, Sheridan explained she decided to get the tattoos during a time when she didn't think she'd return to acting, a decision which she now regrets.

She said: 'My mum went berserk! Maybe in my head I just wasn’t going to act any more. I was in this mad little world. Why should the whole world have a right to look at me?'

'But then I got better and thought: ''Oh, I’m an idiot! Of course I’m going back to acting!'' Now my make-up artist has ordered a product from America that covers the tattoos. And I wear cardigans a lot!'

This came as Sheridan also gushed about her fiancé James Horn, though she went onto admit they've had to put their plans to settle down on hold.  

The TV star became engaged to the city worker during the summer, saying she was looking for someone who can 'put up with the madness' of the entertainment industry.

She said: 'I don’t have big ambitions any more – as long as I’m working and my mental health’s good. I’d like to get married, have a kid.

'I need to come home to someone caring, understanding. Normality. But someone who’ll put up with the madness of this industry.'

When asked if the couple have a date set for their nuptials, the Cilla star said: 'No rush! I’m booked up filming all next year, we’re just enjoying the engagement.'  

Sheridan and her other half now live in the country side where the actress is enjoying a more relaxed pace of life.

She said: 'A little farm out in the country. I’ve just got four donkeys. Got another dog now, too.

'My fella wants chickens, fresh eggs. I’ve realised how much I missed the countryside.'

Sheridan also opened up about the death of her father Colin in 2016, which led to her suffering a breakdown.

The actress withdrew from work for two months to recuperate from the loss.  

She said: 'I chose to take the time off, but you know, it was better that I had time with him. 

'No one’s as good as your dad, are they?'

Speaking recently on The Jonathan Ross Show, Sheridan admitted she and Jamie clicked right away when they first met.

She said: 'I met him and I just, they say you know instantly and I’ve always been a bit like, "Oh come on!.

'But I don’t know, we just clicked and suddenly it just wasn’t difficult anymore.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
