«Breaking News» Saved By The Bell alum Mark-Paul Gosselaar sports rugged new look in new series called The Passage

Saved By The Bell's Mark-Paul Gosselaar looked worlds away from his child star days, aged 15, as he pulled off a new rugged look for series The Passage.

Fans will recognise the actor as the cheeky blond Zack Morris from the late 80s/early 90s series Saved By The Bell.

Fast forward two decades, the 44-year-old underwent a hunky transformation to play the dark-haired brooding FBI agent Brad Wolgast in Fox drama series The Passage.

In the new series, Mark's FBI agent character is paired with a 10-year-old girl (Saniyya Sidney) who has supernatural powers.

Emmanuelle Chriqui, Caroline Chikezie and Vincent Piazza also joined forces with the cast for the drama.

Mark hasn't slowed down on his career as he has gone onto star in shows such as Franklin & Bash, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Pitch since Saved By The Bell.

The actor starred in Saved By The Bell alongside Mario Lopez, Elizabeth Berkley, Tiffani Thiessen, Lark Voorhies and Dustin Diamond.

Mark's young The Passage co-star Saniyya, 12, appeared alongside the actor in August at a Television Critics Association event.

The actress revealed she received 'words of wisdom' from Mark about acting at a young age, The Wrap reported.

Saniyya even shared that she had been 'actually watching Saved by the Bell' as well for top tips on how to act.

Mark, who was 15 when he began filming scenes for Saved By The Bell, quipped his co-star would pick up 'a lot of wisdom' that way.

'I know, that's a lot of wisdom,' said Mark 'You can learn a lot.'

In his tongue-in-cheek fashion, the cheeky star pumped up his own plaudits from his early career as he insisted he was a 'child star'.

'By the way, I wasn't a child performer ... I was a child star,' he said.

The Passage will premiere on Fox on January 14 at 8/7c.

Fast forward two ...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
