He has struggled with yo-yo dieting and a persistent paunch for years.
But Robbie Williams has lost his ‘blobbie’ nickname, and become an unlikely ambassador for one of the biggest names in dieting.
The star, who was once called ‘the fat dancer from Take That’ by Noel Gallagher, was unveiled as the new face of WW.
Previously called Weight Watchers, the brand will show Williams’ on his ‘wellness journey’ to a healthy lifestyle.

The singer and X Factor judge has previously talked about his battle with weight, and also poked fun at himself on his 2013 album Swings Both Ways with a track called No One Likes A Fat Pop Star.
His wife, Ayda Field, 39, has admitted the singer takes cruel taunts about his weight very personally, leading her to implement a social media ban during their recent X Factor stint.
Speaking about her husband, 44, in September, she said: ‘Robbie comes across as arrogant and cocky, but inside he’s a little mushy mensch and he has very soft feelings and a wounded heart.
When people write bad things about him it hurts. I try to teach Rob to stay away from it – sometimes I have more success than others.’
On X Factor earlier this year, a Robbie impersonator called Blobbie Williams auditioned in front of the star himself.
After watching his larger self perform, Williams joked: ‘It’s like a before and before shot. Since we spoke, you’re the reason I haven’t eaten a carb in the last three weeks.’

He will appear alongside fellow ambassadors, Hollywood star Kate Hudson, chat show queen Oprah Winfrey and other WW members in the weight management brand’s For Every Body campaign.
Williams said: ‘WW is the first programme that truly feels like it fits with my life.’
He said after he suffered a back injury last year he let his healthy habits slip and felt as though ‘I let myself and my family down’.
He added: ‘I can’t keep trying the same things and hoping for a different outcome. I trust the history of behaviour science that WW has, and I’m proud to be a new ambassador. Hopefully, others will benefit from my experience.’

WW said the campaign is ‘based on the insight that everyone has their own reason to get healthy and what makes the most meaningful impact along the journey is everything you gain’.
WW recommends eating according to a points-based menu of different foods, to control a person’s calorie intake as well as ensuring they don’t eat too many unhealthy dishes.
Users can track what they eat using an online app.
Mindy Grossman, WW’s president and chief executive, said: ‘WW aims to be the world’s partner in wellness: a programme designed for everybody and committed to helping millions adopt healthy habits.
We are so thrilled to have Robbie join our community and inspire others with his wellness journey, to help our members be their best selves.’
WW rebranded from Weight Watchers in September, removing Weight from its name and moving its focus to wellness and health.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
