«Breaking News» Philip May supports wife Theresa may in PMQs maid confidence vote

Theresa May was given some much-needed emotional support by her husband and 'rock' Philip May as she took part in PMQs today amid the Tory coup to oust her.

The PM had to face her mutinous backbenchers as she took to her feet for the weekly Commons showdown.

She is facing the political battle of her life as she desperately tries to cling on as leader ahead of tonight's crunch confidence vote in her.

As she stepped up to the despatch box in the Commons with her mutinous MPs to her back and a baying Labour opposition in front of her, her devoted husband Philip was sat in the public gallery watching her.

The PM has previously told how her husband is her 'rock' and has helped her through the tough political upheavals she has faced.

And viewers of PMQs heaped praise on Mr May for supporting his wife - branding him the epitome of 'husband goals'.

At the end of the noisy Commons showdown, Mr May turned to Mrs May's long-term aide Liz Sanderson and appeared to say 'that went well'.

Theresa May was loudly cheered by the Conservative benches at PMQs as she put a brave face on the looming no-confidence vote tonight - and up in the gallery above her was her husband Philip, who smiled briefly as she got to her feet

Catherine Wynn tweeted: 'Philip May is husband goals', alongside a love emoji.

And Tory MP and former minister Tracey Crouch tweeted: 'I love that Philip May is in the gallery.

'What you want most when the sh** hits the fan at work is the unconditional love and support from the rock in your life knowing they'll be there for you during and long after.'

Mrs May faced a particularly rowdy PMQs today as MPs packed into the Chamber to watch the clash as the knives are out for the PM.

Mr May gave a broad smile as his wife got to her feet, but otherwise sat with his arms folded and staring impassively at the MPs below.

The couple have been sweethearts since they met as students at Oxford University and married in 1980.

Mr May has been at his wife's side at the toughest moments of her time in Number Ten.

His show of support comes as Mrs May faces the toughest day of her crisis-prone premiership, as Tory MPs will vote tonight on whether or not to oust her as leader.

She tried to quell the Tory revolt today by delivering a broad hint that she won't be in charge at the next general election.

The Prime Minister made clear the no confidence vote tonight is 'not about who leads the party into the next election'.

The signal came after she vowed to fight with 'everything I've got' to beat the coup bid dramatically triggered by Eurosceptics.

The contest is being held after hardliners secured the 48 letters from Conservative MPs needed to force a ballot that could bring her time as leader to a shambolic end.

At a rowdy PMQs this afternoon, watched by husband Philip from the gallery, Mrs May warned Brexit will need to be delayed beyond March if she loses and Jeremy Corbyn might end up in power.

She appealed for more time to secure further concessions on the controversial exit package she has thrashed out with the EU.

More than 110 MPs have publicly declared that they will back her, putting her apparently on course to survive tonight - although as it is a secret ballot there is no guarantee they are telling the truth.

And in a major concession designed to soothe tensions further, the PM's spokesman said: ‘She does not believe that this vote today is about who leads the party into the next election.

‘It is about if it is sensible to change leadership during the Brexit negotiation.’

He added: ‘She will serve as long as the party wants her.’

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
