«Breaking News» Limited edition James Bond novel worth thousands of dollars uncovered by charity book sorter

A rare book worth thousands of dollars has been donated to a charity.

The Man with the Golden Gun, from the James Bond series, was recently uncovered by a volunteer book sorter from Melbourne-based Brotherhood Books.

The book unearthed features an embossed golden gun on the cover - one of only 800 which contain the feature as it ultimately proved too costly to print.

Brotherhood Books manager Greg Simpson said a stringent checking process was undertaken to ensure the book was not a fake.

'Peeling off the dust jacket exposes the gold embossing. It's rare enough that there are actually fakes out there but we have checked carefully to ensure this one is the real thing,' Mr Simpson said.

'It's a real thrill to have such a collectable book. One hundred per cent of our profits go to the Brotherhood's programs to alleviate poverty, so we want to make sure we get the best possible price.'

The book, which has an estimated price tag of $15,000, will be sold at auction but reasonable offers are welcome through the Brotherhood Books website

The Man with the Golden Gun was the last in the James Bond series by Ian Fleming, published in 1965, after Mr Fleming's death.

The 362-year old legal text The First Book of Judgements was last year donated to Brotherhood Books, fetching $1,750 within two hours of going up on the website.

Brotherhood Books is a Brotherhood of St Laurence social enterprise.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
