«Breaking News» Geordie Shore's Sophie Kasaei reveals she had suicidal thoughts during battle with depression

Sophie Kasaei has revealed that she once endured crippling depression after a series of events that led to her having suicidal thoughts.

The reality star was hit with a series of events that included her axing from Geordie Shore, her parents' 'messy' divorce after 26 years of marriage and the failure of her beauty and fashion boutique — in which she lost her £70,000 life savings.

And in an interview published in this week's issue of Closer, the 29-year-old TV personality has admitted that she tried to take her mind off her woes by partying for days on end — but her efforts did little to lighten her dark thoughts.

Of her mounting problems at the time, she recalled: 'I felt like I'd lost everything and I was left thinking, "What else can go wrong?" I was going out partying to take my mind off it and staying out for days on end. I had depression, and I started getting suicidal thoughts. I just didn't want to be here anymore.'

However, things started to turn around for Sophie when the bosses of Geordie Shore — who had dismissed her from the MTV show in 2013 after she was caught using a racial slur — invited her back for a reunion special.

'The reaction from the public was great and then they asked me back full time,' said Sophie. 'I felt like I was being given a second chance at life, I was so grateful. I started taking care of myself more, too, so I felt better in that way as well.'

Following the end of her seven-year relationship with Joel Corey last year, she has embarked on a new romance with beau Jay after messaging him on Instagram — adding another happy note to her life, which has also included a healthier lifestyle.

She gushed to Closer: 'I'm so much happier. I lost three-and-a-half stone by the end of last year, which boosted my confidence. Me and my mum have been spending lots of time together and I am helping her to find her happiness. I just try to be grateful and positive and appreciate what I have.'

Sophie has also undergone a remarkable body transformation and most recently she revealed she had a breast uplift, following her weight loss.

She recently told The Sun: 'I had a breast uplift four or five years ago. I lost a lot of weight, I got it before I had lost all the weight. It was because I'd lost all the weight I had saggy boobs and there was nothing left.

'I always had big boobs from being young, and when they all went down, I thought well, I'm going to get a breast uplift to to put them back where they were.'

The reality star admitted she had to accept piling on the weight was part and parcel of filming Geordie Shore because of the partying and takeaway lifestyle.

Sophie recently discussed her struggles with the MailOnline and how she managed to try find healthier alternatives while she filmed on Geordie Shore to keep 'fit'.

'When I'm in Geordie Shore that's just a time where I have to accept I will put weight on,' she revealed. 'It's my job at that moment in time, I will have to get on with it and when I get out, that's the time to get fit again.

Changes: Sophie, who recently unveiled a new blonde makeover, has since embraced a healthier lifestyle, resulting in a more than 3-stone weight loss 

'For the couple of weeks I'm filming obviously I don't eat as much as I used to after a night out, I will get chicken thighs instead of a pizza or kebab.

'I try to maintain my weight and when I get out I try to get fit again. I have to admit it's not the healthiest thing for my weight to go up and down, but it's my job.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
