«Breaking News» #DuvetKnowItsChristmas: Twitter users share their rubbish Yuletide sleeping arrangements again

Twitter users have been sharing the weird and wonderful places they've ended up sleeping at their parents' house again this year.

British writer and musician Rhodri Marsden, 47, began the annual tradition in 2011, asking his followers to share their unusual sleeping arrangements after returning home for the Christmas period.

Using the hashtag #DuvetKnowItsChristmas, social media users have shown off the sofa beds and cramped studies they have been relegated to this festive season.

This year Rhodri, who plays with Leeds-based post-punk band Scritti Politti, has also teamed up with homelessness charity Shelter to encourage people to donate money after sharing their snaps.

In a video, Rhodri reads a poem parodying The Night Before Christmas using photos of disappointing yuletide beds from previous years.

He said: ''Twas the night before Christmas, and throughout the land, the sleeping arrangements were carefully planned.

'Down in the kitchen, a picturesque scene, a mattress, a pillow, a washing machine. A living room crammed with all manner of junk, a rickety ladder leads up to a bunk.'

The poem continues for two minutes, before a message asking people to donate to Shelter appears.

While the official social media campaign kicks off at 9pm tonight, plenty of followers are already getting in on the fun.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
